I know I make jokes about the Savannah Bananas (could still beat the Mets right now), but they're expecting 100,000 fans at Kyle Field which is the football stadium. Meanwhile the boys and girls will play a doubleheader Saturday due to inclement weather today.

Saturday will be an especially busy time in Aggieland, with both the No. 7 baseball team and the No. 12 softball squad hosting doubleheaders; the latter faces Oklahoma at 12:15 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Aggie menโ€™s tennis team will host NCAA Tournament first-round matches at the Mitchell Tennis Center beginning at 10 a.m. Also, Kyle Field is expecting more than 100,000 fans for the Savannah Bananas at 7 p.m.

Jacob Misorkowski (or however you spell it) , pulled after 5.1 NO-Hit innings and 85 pitches, so no way this guy is finishing these days.

The odd note is he was pulled by the trainer. Alarm bells going off in my head that the trainer pulling him was a staged injury to try and dodge criticism of him or management from fans living in 1990. I feel if he makes his next start it's def a fake injury, they hold these guys back now for bad dreams.

Anyway, the injury... cramps! CRAMPS! Already making next start.

What a joke.

I've given this stupid **** two 20 second watch opportunities over the years . Never again. I know they are good athletes and probably crack many funny jokes in the locker room, but it is so lame. Half the player's shirts are fully unbuttoned. Their target audience of aggies and Georgians makes sense.

Pirates putting up 17 runs with no dingers today. I still dislike how they're running the show until they cough up the farm for Yordong Alvarez.

Damn.

Why can't we have nice things?

Only allowed one nice thing at a time and they got McGonigle.

The Tigers have one decent starting pitcher and he's a complete dipshit loser.

Murakami doing weird things. 14 home runs. Only 1 double. Basically on pace for 60 home runs and 4 doubles.

Judge 12 HR from his last 23 games

This post made me wonder if I could find an example of an MLB player who had more than 100 career HRs, and twice as many HRs as doubles. Mark McGwire is the only example. He had 583 HRs and just 252 doubles.

I found a few others who were close. Joey Gallo had 208 HRs and 107 doubles. Dave Kingman had 442 HRs, and 240 doubles. Aaron Judge has 382 HRs and 209 doubles. Kyle Schwarber has 351 HRs and 181 doubles. They both have a real chance.

Elly did the ole 3 Rbi's with no hits trick tonight, including a 2-run sac fly. Both quite rare, I would think. Anybody ever drive in 4 runs in a game without a hit?

McGwire ratio got crazy at the end of his career.

Final season 29 home runs to 4 doubles. Year before that 32/8. Overall in the NL he had 220 home runs and only 57 doubles.

Harmon Killebrew was really close. Just 4 doubles too many.

573 home runs. 290 doubles.

He had this if he retired one year earlier when he was at 559/277

Trent Grisham last year 34 homers only 9 doubles.

It's a weird thing to sort for. You essentially need a DH/1B only profile who is big, doesn't run well, strikes out a ton, and lifts everything. The big, slow guy can't be a truly great hitter like Frank Thomas because those guys simply barrel too many balls to have truly low totals of doubles.

hey is there somewhere in sports forum that its cool to post baseball cards to ask opinions on whether they're worth PSA?
thx in advance

No. This is the sporting events forum.

A sports card is not a sporting "event".

Cubs with their best two starters out (one until at least ASB, one for season), and then their 4th starter also now out for a little while, and on a 20 - 4 streak now with best record in the majors.

Regression to mean coming for pitching I'm sure but yikes.

Shoutout to the giants and Red Sox for completing the only trade in history where both teams managed to get catastrophically worse

never ever ever, going back to devers

that's why I said "sports forum" not "sporting events forum", genius
I thought I'd ask here because this is a general MLB thread where "fantasy sports" and "sports betting" are specific topics

Sounds like a ban is in order for this clown

Former Braves manager Bobby Cox passed away.

He was one of the greatest managers ever. An amusing, familiar, and entertaining part of my childhood. And he won a LOT of baseball games.

Rest in peace

that sucks. wish i had an anecdote or fact but really just admired Cox in the same ilk as Leyland, Piniella, others...
