portugal got any other mfing gs they don't want? tia

that game was a bit of a hot mess but canada won it, so good for them

south africa didn't really try which I didn't get it, they weren't playing a top team. Canada was making all sorts of mistakes themselves.

tomorrow:

brazil vs japan (in houston)
germany vs paraguay (in foxborough)
netherlands vs morocco (in guadalupe)

nice - losing an extra 45min of sleep for this game would have been rough

Thankfully I didn't b/cos I fell asleep at half time. Although it looks like I did miss a decent winner. Nice work Canada, it gets hard from here.

Great line up. I'll go with

Brazil 3 - 1 Japan
Germany 2 - 0 Paraguay
Netherlands 1 - 1 Morocco. Morocco advance with a goal in ET.

saw a joke going around that eustΓ‘quio is the first portuguese #7 to score in the wc knockout round since maniche in 2006, but maniche apparently wasn't wearing 7 at the time. so, figo? someone else?

I went back and watched the clip of that goal, Maniche was wearing no 18. I think Figo had the no 7 shirt then but didnt score. I have no idea who it could be, they got grouped in 2002.

Big pull for the kids sticker book this morning

Was lucky enough to grow up with this anime and tonight we'll finally get an answer on who wins the finale.

While fully in agreement that there's a turd or two in the RO32, today might be the best day of the entire tournament. Really excited to [strike]not pay attention at work today[/strike] watch.

Great line-up

As a Dutch man im already feeling the nerves. Which is good because the game starts at 3am here and that will probably keep me awake. Not to mention I drew Netherlands in the sweepstake so its double jeopardy for me :p

I throw my boring predictions in the ring as well:
Brazil 1 - 0 Japan
Germany 2 - 0 Paraguay
Netherlands 1 - 1 Morocco (Netherlands advance in ET)

Japan going to give us the first upset of the RO32?

Not sure there is an upset in the Netherlands - Morocco game, I know NL is the fav but I think it's super close between those 2.

Netherlands 3 - 3 Morocco (Netherlands advance in ET)

Fixed!

I agree to that

a knockout game actually worth watching!

Hey now. Canada - RSA was a game for the ages. Up there with the miracle of Istanbul and that Portugal - Netherlands game.

Love the pic.

Tilts me that Japan are not wearing their traditional blue kit

They're wearing a replica of the Germany shirt as if it was still WW2

Brazil clearly challenging Japan to beat them direct.

Old school Casemiro tackle, early yellow for him gonna be fun.

This game needs a goal ffs
