Olympics: Official bitch about NBC's coverage thread

I need an outlet because it's happening again. Every two years I get up for the Olympics, which I think are awesome, and every two years I end up not following as I'd like because NBC's coverage is loltastic, almost embarassingly bad.

First, they have three cable networks. Typically only one is showing anything, and according to the TV schedule at nbcolympics.com, they have lots of dark periods. WTF. To make it worse, the one network they do have showing events isn't actually showing events, it's showing freaking vignettes about athletes. I don't need to see a 15 minute backstory on some random (typically) American. I want to see actual Olympic events. WTFFFFFFFFFF.

Last night, sitting here in the SAME TIME ZONE AS VANCOUVER, I WAS FORCED TO WATCH THE OPENING CEREMONIES ON TAPE DELAY. R U SRSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS?????????????????????? In the internet age, I'm going to have to watch events on tape delay, even though I live in the same goddamn timezone? F U NBC. Die die die die you ****ing mother****ers for ruining something that is really cool.

Did I mention that the few events that we will get are determined almost entirely by whether or not there are Americans competing? We get the faintest glimpse of events without someone from the USA. They block off 3 hours today to show us one USA women's hockey game on CNBC but we get to see zero prelims in any other sport, even though in that same 3 hour timeslot we could get coverage of far more events.

AND THEIR FREAKING MORNING SHOW RIGHT NOW IS ON TAPE DELAY TOO.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH this sucks soooooo so so hard.
