I think peak ufc was 2008-2011.

I say this because Brock, GSP, Anderson, and Jones were active during that era. Those were bigger stars than anyone ufc has now.

I'd go out of my way to watch those dudes.

Like I said

no one gonna rush that guy ever again. brutal ko

just practiced my spinning elbow in mirror. didnt look so good, but I did not injure myself

Pico looks great until he gets KOd, too aggressive and his defense sucks

kinda like a young Garbrandt before he just became a gatekeeper altogether

So many ground and hump top fighters these days.

pretty boring, reminds me of jake shields. just hump and no damage

very boring, but scores great for dfs

Dp should fake touch gloves and go for the ko

Dana did a great job cutting jake shields, but hes... back lol

It was contraversil to cut shields but it was needed

Would think if Pereira wins UFC would wanna do that fight (unless they do Pereira/Jones instead)

Pereira/Chimaev both champs would be huge

WOAT title fight

Jon Fitch too, kept winning after he left UFC but was awful to watch

Lol

I only watched the Pico fight and talk about an upset! It reminded me a bit of the Leon Edwards head kick on Usman. A KO from nowhere and Pico had been looking dangerous in that round.

As for the main event....it was dominant and very one-sided. It wasn't entertaining either but Chimaev did what was needed to win. Definitely not going to be winning any fight of the night prizes for that performance!

Not sure who is going to take that belt off him. Burns gave him a good run for his money but he's too old now. Adesanya has had his time and wouldn't stand a chance. There's not really anyone I see in the division capable of dealing with his wrestling.

I could picture Chimaev being champion for years and defend 10 plus times. Or clean out the division and possibly try to go for a second belt at 205 or 170. Although he probably would be noticably undersized at 205. But his wrestling is so dominant it could still give those bigger guys alot of trouble.

Chimaev has been caught before and his performances have been a bit inconsistent. Burns gave him trouble and even in the last few minutes of the fight DDP had a few good moments.

The one thing DDP did well was basically neutralised Chimaev on the ground. He didn't really take much damage considering he was dominated on the ground for most of the fight and was able to defend against the choke.

The question is whether anyone in the division is capable of stopping the takedown and keeping it to striking. Or alternatively, dumping Chimaev on his back and outwrestle him which is probably asking a lot.

Chimaev walks around pretty heavy and is a big guy so could probably bridge the gap with the division above. Alternatively, he's made weight for the division below. Could become a 3 weight division champion! 😆

Rdr will be interesting . Maybe he can submit Chimaev.

Hopefully Khamzat gets the quick turnaround he wants. After dealing with illness and time away from the cage, his reign could turn out to be a thrilling one with so many challengers lined up.

He actually did tho

He actually did tho

Sure, he executed his gameplan to perfection and did his job.

Was it an entertaining spectacle or fight of the night? I'm inclined to say it wasn't.

I assume he got performance of the night, which seems fair if you beat the champion 44-50

Right.

I was mildly surprised, to Masq's point.

Mild hot sauce ain't sheet.

It either burns or it fails.

The most dominant and one of the most boring title fights ever.

I understand the MMA and the dominance aspect of it, but **** that is so boring.

I do not think he will get it, but I'd love a RDR/Khamzat fight and I would love to see Khamzat fight at LW and Islam.

Lol at caring more about excitement than what makes a fight a fight. But that’s the world of casual ufc fandom I suppose
