Jalen Brunson Considering Four-Year, $156.5M Extension Offer Coming From Knicks On Friday
Jalen Brunson is currently considering accepting a four-year, $156.5 million contract extension that the New York Knicks can offer beginning on Friday. Brunson would play out the 24-25 season on his existing contract with his player option for 25-26 being eliminated. If Brunson waits until his 2025 free agency, he can sign a max contract at $269.1 million over five years, which is a difference of $113 million guaranteed and an annual average of $39.1 million against $53.8 million.
Brunson could sign the cheaper extension and then become a free agent in 2028 when he would be eligible for a 35 percent max and make some of that money back by earning $263.1 million from 2025 until 2030.
Sources say the extension is being considered by Brunson because of the security it would provide and because he has no interest in playing elsewhere. A source also says that Brunson is considering the cheaper extension because it would help the Knicks avoid the second apron in the immediate future to continue building around him.

I told you guys Brunson was going to consider this.
That would be awfully sweet of him. Unlike that selfish IHart who wasn't willing to leave millions on the table #ForTheFans
4/156 vs 5/310 would have to be the biggest paycut taken in sports history in terms of straight cash
although im sure some max guys will take less in future years when the max is like 75 per year, most likely guys on 2nd-3rd maxes
Brunson is the real MVP, like I've been saying all along.
Grizzlies -2 against Philadelphia
do you think knicks will have a real chemistry problem next year with 3 legit mvp players in randle, brunson, & 2nd bridges?
Brunson has already previously deferred to Randle and supported him big time.
Mikal Bridges will ease back from being "the man" in Brooklyn and "fit in".
Randle will (obviously) win MVP of the league when the Knicks win 64 games in the regular season while they have Zero chemistry issues, with him averaging 24.5/10.2/6.3
I'm dead serious about this. Throw something on Randle to win MVP.
mclovin, i've been betting randle mvp since day one, no need to stop now
What are the odds? 500-1 ??? $100 x 500 = $50,000.
I can't even see the odds cuz I'm not allowed to bet on stuff that gets voted on. Stupid state regulations.
I'm super serious, Knicks could win 63-64 games --> most in the NBA, if they have good health. ESPECIALLY if they trade for Walker (Texas Ranger) Kessler.
dk got 700:1, i'm sure if we shop around we can get better
the ricklovin syndicate has begun with $75 total action on Randle MVP at 700:1
i'm thinking we should bet enough until we have enough to buy 2p2 with our winnings
All time PER leaders. There are worse stats for sure.

PER leader has also won 13 of past 16 MVPs (and two of the misses are generally accepted as narrative robberies to prevent 3 in a row).
Either it's a great predictor of what people *think* makes a good player, or a lot of voters out there using "sort by" :P
I'm going full narrative with the NOVA Knicks crushing the reg season and Randle being the "top performer" overall stats wise.
700-1 oooooWeeeee !
Randle is going to be like a certain famous Persian who was a top performer, except that he won't be drinking scotch before work.
problem is it's a lot easier for you to collect when i lose than for me to collect the tens of thousands when i win
The Knicks can definitely be the #1 seed in the East and have the most wins in the NBA with good health.
The top team in the league being the Knicks would garner serious MVP consideration... and Randle could very well be their top statistical performer. I expect a huge year from him as well.
So what odds are you offering? 10,000-1?
