**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!

But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

To conclude this question, I give you the current NFL leader in total tackles, the Colts LB Zaire Franklin. The homer pick comes in for the ACE, as Franklin has 151 tackles.

A week late but I did it ma! An ace!!

This week has gotten away from me.

I’m gonna try to bang out some reveals during the games this weekend, and we’ll wrap this up next week!

Hope everything is ok TJ? Looking forward to seeing how badly the season ending questions went...

Yes… sorry all I’ve been procrastinating putting up the end of season reveals.

I’ll sit down tonight and bang some out.

Again, apologies to everyone.

I have a nasty habit of procrastinating that impacts other areas of my life. When I think about how much time I'll have to sit down at my desktop and close out these reveals, it gives me paralysis from ever starting.

So we'll sit down and get a couple in tonight, which will motivate me to get the rest up.

Without further ado,

Who's here? It's time for the Question 18 Reveal!

18. Name a QB with 27+ passing TD's.

For this question, we have 8 correct answers, and 40 incorrect answers 😮

We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.

The SHEEP answer for this question was played by 7 players, including yours truly. I'll take an injury mulligan on Dak Prescott, but even though the Cowboys were floundering, he wasn't on pace for this question when he went down. But down he went, and his 2024 season finishes with 11 TD's.

Our next most popular incorrect was played by 6 contestants. Jordan Love came pretty close for this question, but just came up short, with 25 TD's.

Our next most popular incorrects are a trio of answers played by 4 entrants. Patrick Mahomes seems pretty safe for this question, with a proven track record. Let's not forget that he is the author of a 5k yard, 50 TD season before. But these Chiefs are all about defense, and Mahomes bubbles this question, with 26 TD's.

Also played by 4 of the participants, our next incorrect is Trevor Lawrence. Where do the Jags go from here? Is Trevor salvageable? I say yes, but man this season was pretty rough for him. Guess we'll get some answers to those questions this offseason. For 2024, Lawrence threw for 11 TD's.

Our final would-be 4 pointer is the Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa. I hope he can finish out a long career despite his concussion issues, but I worry that maybe he shouldn't be playing football. It's his life, though, and he clearly loves the game. In 2024, he threw for 19 TD's.

Our next incorrects are another trio of would-be 3 pointers. Brock Purdy got hurt at the end of the season, and he'll certainly be looking for some economic security this offseason. SRM should cover his ears, but I think he's shown he's a starting QB worth the market rate of 40M a year. We'll see what happens. Anyway, he threw for 20 TD's in 2024.

Also played by 3 players, our next incorrect is CJ Stroud. He's had an up and down second season, but sure looked fantastic ever since that crazy scramble/broken play to Hutchinson that completely turned that playoff game around. Next up, a date in Arrowhead. For the regular season, though, he threw for 20 TD's.

Our final would-be 3 pointer is another QB who's still playing, the Rams' Matt Stafford. Their team's offensive swoon at the end of the season threw everybody off for their playoff game, but it sure looked like one of those moments for the city that was bigger than sports. In 2024, Stafford threw 20 TD's.

Two entrants played our next incorrect, Geno Smith. He threw for 21 TD's in 2024.

The remaining incorrects went ace hunting.

Caleb Williams, 20 TD's

Kirk Cousins, 18

Here are the 2 correct answers that weren't played!

Lamar Jackson 😮, 41 passing TD's

Sam Darnold, 35

Our most popular correct answers are a pair of 2-pointers. Joe Burrow is your NFL leader in passing touchdowns, with 43. If they can fix the defense and keep those receivers together, and avoid a characteristic slow start, they should be right there in the mix in 2025.

Also played by 2 entrants, our next correct answer is Jared Goff. The Lions' offense had an outstanding year, and Goff threw for 37 scores.

Question 18 closes with 4 aces, which I'll reveal from least- to most-facemeltiest. Josh Allen might win his first MVP this season, and though he might also not win it, nobody can deny he's had an incredible season. He threw for 28 passing TD's, and added another 12 with his legs on the ground.

Bidz

I heard on a podcast, if you want to win a bar bet. Which NFC team has the most regular season wins in this decade of the 2020's? The answer is the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Led by the doubted and overlooked Baker Mayfield, they won the NFC South, again. Baker captained an explosive offense when everyone was healthy, and threw for 41 TD's this year.

ligastar

For our next ace, is this the end for Aaron Rodgers? If you didn't watch the games, and just looked at his stats, you might think some team will give him a shot. He seems to have worn out his welcome, after burning the entire Jets organization to the ground. By the numbers, though, he threw for 28 scores in 2024.

stephnick

Our final ace is the rookie Bo Nix, who led a young team to the playoffs in his first season. They may have gotten bounced in the first round, but things are looking up in Denver. Especially with the emergence of Nik Bonitto, and the best corner in the game, Patrick Surtain Jr. Nix threw for 29 scores in 2024.

REDeYeS00

With a SHEEP score of 7, plus 6 different correct answers submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 13 for this question.
