**** 2024 Season-Long NFL PEEHS! ****

Hello again, football fans!

It’s that time of year again! The premier, flagship contest of SE, Season-Long NFL PEEHS, is returning for its 12th season, the second under my stewardship. When Kris ran this contest, I always appreciated how much fun it was, and how it brought this diverse little community of football fans together. With his blessing, I’ll be running it again, for hopefully the best installment yet!

But I may need help. I work, and it’s a long season through the holidays, and I know I won’t be available for the Thanksgiving reveals. I’d like for last year’s go-to guest revealer Rawlz517 to be able to step in, if he’s available, or I’ll take any volunteers if he’s not. If schedules change, we’ll play it by ear.

I’ve never played PEEHS before, what is it?

PEEHS is basically a fun, free NFL football futures contest. You make an entry by giving answers to the 25 questions before the season starts, and I reveal the answers once a week as the season goes along. For every question, your answer will either be CORRECT, or INCORRECT.

If your answer is CORRECT, your score for that question will simply be the number of people who selected your same correct answer. If you’re the only person to select your correct answer, that’s an ACE! …and your score for that question is 1.

If your answer is INCORRECT, then your score for that question is the number of people who picked the SHEEP answer (most popular answer), plus the number of different correct answers submitted for that question. The SHEEP (most popular answer) can be either correct or incorrect; all that matters is the number of people who selected the SHEEP.

Therefore it’s most important to be CORRECT in all your answers, but also be among the fewest participants that select your correct answers.

Scores add up per question over the season. Lowest score wins.

Our reigning 2023 Champion is pwnsall!

How do I enter?

Anyone can enter by sending me a single-spaced, non-numbered PM with your answers. Please correctly spell first AND last names for player names, and just use mascots for team names.

Since we get questions on this every year...

Not spaced (don’t do this):

Falcons Chiefs Saints Nick Chubb…

Single-spaced (DO THIS ONE):

Falcons
Chiefs
Saints
Nick Chubb…

Double-spaced (don’t do this):

Chiefs

Saints

Nick Chubb…

Here are the scores after 18 questions!

royalblue breaks the tie up top, fading all the injuries and correctly answering a tough question!

I'm feeling good, let's reveal one more!

19. Name a QB/RB with 1,000+ rushing yards

For this question, we had 27 correct answers, and 21 incorrect answers.

We'll start by reviewing the incorrects first.

The most popular incorrect answer, though not the SHEEP, was played by 5 players. Breece Hall didn't have an AWFUL season, but I think his fantasy owners were disappointed in their investment. Hall finishes 2024 with 876 rushing yards.

Our next most popular incorrects are a pair of would-be 3 pointers. Christian McCaffrey's season just never really got going, and it's a shame, since he's a joy to watch when he's going well. As he ends 2024 injured, it remains to be seen where he goes from here. For 2024, he ran for 202 yards in 4 games.

Also played by 3 contestants, our next incorrect just came up short. The former Georgia Bulldog D'Andre Swift ran for 959 yards in 2024.

Our next incorrects are a pair of would-be 2 pointers. Isiah Pacheco is another injury bust, running for 310 yards this year.

Also played by 2 entrants, our next incorrect is Kenneth Walker III. The Seahawk rushed for 573 yards.

The remaining incorrects went ace-hunting.

David Montgomery, 775 rushing yards

Booker Wolfbox

De'Von Achane, 907

Javonte Williams, 513

Travis Etienne, 558

Zack Moss, 242

And finally, best I can tell, we have an entry to The Club.

The question did specify a QB or RB, and also specified RUSHING yards, not receiving yards.

Therefore, Mike Evans is ineligible to be correct. I also checked the next question's answers, to see if maybe he got receivers and runners mixed up... but no, he did put a receiver for the next question.

Maybe he just saw that 1,000 yard season streak, and said he wanted some of that.

So esad is also incorrect.

Here are the 5 correct answers that weren't played by the field!

Chuba Hubbard, 1195 rushing yards
Aaron Jones, 1138
Bucky Irving, 1122
James Conner, 1094
Rico Dowdle, 1079

This question's SHEEP answer was played by 6 participants, including yours truly (on yet ANOTHER SHEEP!). UGA standout James Cook scored a bunch of TD's for the Bills this season, and also ran for 1009 yards, making him barely correct!

Our next most popular correct answer was played by 5 players. Josh Jacobs found a home in Green Bay this year, as the workhorse back ran for 1329 yards this year.

Our next correct was played by 4 contestants. Derrick Henry is getting older, but just keeps getting better. I forget to whom I should attribute this quote, but somebody said tackling him is like tackling a refrigerator, full of bricks, on a skateboard, rolling down a hill. Henry rushed for 1921 yards in 2024, to become the first player in NFL history to rush for over 1900 yards in TWO separate seasons.

Our next corrects are a quartet of 2 point answers. Jahmyr Gibbs had a fantastic season for the Lions, running for 1412 yards.

Our next 2-pointer is Joe Mixon. It's been a banner year for second- and third-contract veteran RB's, as Mixon ran for 1016 yards.

Also played by 2 participants, Jonathan Taylor had a great year for the Colts, running for 1431 yards.

Our final 2-point answer is your NFL leader in rushing, Saquon Barkley. I don't know how he REALLY feels about it, but I'm glad he sat for the 17th game, as Eric Dickerson's 40 year old record will stand for at least another year. By any measure, Saquon had a career year, with 2005 yards on the ground.

Question 19 closes with 4 aces. As someone who watched almost every minute of Falcons football this season, I was happy to see Bijan Robinson finish 3rd in the NFL in rushing. He's a special player forcing missed tackles and getting yards after contact. In 2024, he had 1456 yards (plus another 644 from Allgeier, which makes an even 2.1k for the Falcons' backfield).

eyebooger

Our next ace is the Rams' Kyren Williams. He rushed for an astounding 1299 yards.

REDeYeS00

Our next ace is the Steelers' bell cow Najee Harris. He's not always the most efficient, but he's at an even 4.0 YPC this year, for a total of 1043 yards.

MrWookie

Our final ace is The One That Got Away for mark. Tony Pollard went to Tennessee, where just about everything went wrong for the Titans this year. But Pollard did his part, rushing for 1079 yards.

...The exact same total as UNPLAYED CORRECT Rico Dowdle!

marknfw

With a SHEEP score of 6, plus 11 different corrects submitted, incorrects will receive a score of 17 for this question.

Here are the scores after 19 questions!

The field gets closer to royalblue up top, who missed that one, as the rest of our podium reshuffles.

That'll be all for now!

I'll definitely get some reveals up during the games Sunday,

and I'll try to find the time to do some Friday night.
