HORSE RACING THREAD

HORSE RACING THREAD

To stop forum clutter, I'd like to keep all picks, tickets, comments etc.. regarding horse racing to this one thread.

Today, Sunday March 29th, Santa Anita has a $137k carryover in the Super High Five.. which is a wager consisting of choosing the exact order of finish for the first five to cross the wire.

I have handicapped the race and assigned my selections as A B or C picks.

A: 2-10-12
B: 5-8
C: 4-7-9

Next, I have constructed the following $1 combinations...

A-A-A-B-B
A-A-A-B-C
A-A-A-C-B
A-A-B-B-A
A-A-B-A-B
A-B-B-A-A
A-B-A-B-A
A-B-A-A-B
A-A-A-4-C
A-A-A-7-C
8-A-A-A-5

That is 198 combinations at $1 each, for a total wager of $198.

I hit this wager back in January for $6k.. I do not play it often but, when the carryover reaches six digits, you gotta go for it, imo.

Good Luck Everyone! 😀

Cheltenham starts tomorrow

The Kentucky Derby is in a week. Does anyone care? I used to. Horse racing used to be my life. Now I wish it would go away.
But I must admit, there is nothing like catching the late Tuesday afternoon double at Thistledown. What a rush!

Happy Derby day! Long time, no post. Hope all is well and gl to everyone!

Was hoping for some more winners this year, but pretty slow in the thread. Where all them CAPPERS at?

Anyone at Churchill and can speak to track conditions? Looks like we want mudders early

There we go. Running hot on derby donking.

Hit for $20 to win on Dan and boxed 5 horses for a winning exacta. Pays for dinner.

I went -48% ROI on the derby...whee...

some excitement coming tomorrow in horse racing which is in decline and badly needs some excitement
Thorpedo Anna is a fabulous 3 year old filly who was won 4 graded stakes in a row - 3 of them grade 1s - she will try to be the first filly since 1915, more than 100 years ago, to win the Travers stakes
she's 3/1 on the morning line and has some tough competition
at 1.25 miles it will be tough for her to win - farther by 1/8th then she's ever gone before
I will make a wimpy Place bet on Dornach who won the Belmont Stakes at 1.25 miles (shortened by .25 miles because it had to be run at Saratoga)
I expect Thorpedo Anna to be overbet by the public because she's a filly - prices on others in the money may be better because of that - especially if she's out of the money
