2024/2025 NFL Survivor Contests

I'm planning to play the Circa Survivor for the first time this coming season and have already booked my travel and arranged my proxy service to make my picks for me. Last year I made it to weeks 14, 15, and 16 in DraftKings various survivor pools (the $100, $10, and $1 entries). Does anyone know or have experience regarding how players communicate with one another to discuss chops/deals as it gets down near the end? Is player contact info public?

On another note, is it pretty much a given that a chop is realistic nearly every year sometime between weeks 14 and 16? I've tracked the results going back to 2020 and that's what it looks like. If you are banking on a chop without having to play weeks 17 and 18, it probably makes sense to not leave any top tier teams for the final 2 weeks, as there's a better than average chance the prize pool, or most of it, will be chopped.

Thanks all!

You do have to register in person at one of Circa's properties. If you are a non-resident of Nevada, you have to make your picks through a proxy service registered to do business in Nevada. I just searched proxy services online and decided upon WinnersCircleProxy. All you do is set up a meeting with a rep from the proxy in person at Circa and you go over the details, pay for the entry, and pay the proxy. Then you submit your picks online through the proxy each week and they make them for you.

my strong rec is to not play if you're using a proxy

outside of what they charge to run it, they will ask an absurd "tip" in the event you win anything - dramatically killing any EV that may otherwise exist

A tip that is voluntary but not mandatory, correct? They only charge $100 for the season, or $5 per week, which is entirely fair in my opinion. Thanks for the feedback.

last year i knew some people who went deep and started getting strong armed into agreeing to a tip - ended up not mattering because they didn't win

and they felt powerless to say no because they needed to proxy to do it for them and you also get irrational at those times thinking "i'm going to win a million dollars, sure i'll give the proxy 50k"

would never use a proxy for that reason

Thanks for the tip. I was planning on a few Circa entries but will skip it as I would need a proxy.

I think the best course of action is agreeing to tip, but not committing to an amount. You have to remember, these proxies' entire existence relies on legitimacy and honoring the contract and services rendered. If their reputation was they were extorting customers into tipping or else they would no longer make the picks for you, they would fold in short order. The court system would not be on their side because any communications would be admissable and concrete evidence.

bruh, if winners circle was to be trusted so much then why did they feel the need to rebrand away from their old name of kelly in vegas?

go ahead and do it, but you're already paying big fees for them to hit a button on a website once a week for you and then they freeroll all their winners for big payouts which is shady AF imo

look here, they even say "we don't force you to pay us out anymore, we only strong arm it" and they have the cohones to claim that it's ok because everyone else is a scumbag as well

their about us is first trying to explain why they changed their name and second pleading with you that they are no longer shady scammers - go ahead and give them business though - you do you

They didn't take a piece of the winnings when they were KellyinVegas either. The name change seems to be for marketing purposes only, and not due to reputation. You "knew some people" last year that went deep aye? That says everything I need to know..

ride, i'm beginning to think you work for them or you are kelly

they literally say "we stopped making tips mandatory" and will now only strongarm you into doing it "voluntarily"

you think they'd feel the need to put that as #2 on their "about us" of "sorry about doing that but we promise we won't do it again" if that weren't a major problem of theirs in the past?

jfc dude

Rick, you're interpreting their headline incorrectly. They are not saying they once used to take a percentage of the winnings and now they are not; they are saying they are changing the custom of the industry where others used to take a cut, but under their model they do not. I've even linked a pokernews.com article below from 2020 that even discusses this. They always had a flat fee way of doing things and did not take a % cut, even before they rebranded.

Why are you wasting my time with this back and forth and conjecture, and making up false statements based on absolutely nothing other than you misinterpreting their "about us" page on their website. I'm trying to find out how players communicate with one another to discuss chops; that's something I don't know as DraftKings doesn't do chops in their survivors.

For anyone interested, here are the sources:

2. No More Auto-Gratuity

Another industry status quo that we are proud to have positively changed is the auto-gratuity process. Before we came into the business, almost all proxy services charged an automatic gratuity amount of 3% to all contest winners. We simply thought this was a bad business practice.

How annoying is it when you see a tip automatically added to your bill at a restaurant? It is an automatic turnoff. We decided instead to put more faith in our clients by never automatically adding gratuity.

Our belief is that if we provide outstanding customer service, our clients will reward us when they win. Over the years this belief has proven to be true. If you take good care of people, people will take good care of you!

if you go deep in this, want to have a prop bet whether or not they'll try to shake you down for a tip?

Why would I give business to somebody threatening to "strong arm" me?

What am I missing? Is Vegas that bad now?

Is Vegas that bad now?

Wait until WinnersCircleProxy starts charging a "resort fee."

Rick's interpretation of "strong-arming" is probably not the most accurate. Here's a tip in life: don't take anyone's secondhand word as gospel. He "knew some people" last year..

If their contract states no additional money is withheld from winnings above and beyond the flat fee charged by the proxy, that's all I care about. If they ask for a tip, I couldn't care less as long as it's not mandatory. That's not strong-arming.

When does Circa open registration? If I need to be in Vegas to register, would be nice if could do it at same time as WSOP. If registration doesn't open until later, that would be more difficult.

It would be convenient if Circa allows termination of proxy during the season to counter this nonsense.

I would be willing to volunteer to go maybe 4 or 5 weeks, if we get 3 other volunteers we solved this problem, assuming Circa can accommodate such an arrangement.

The Circa contests open in mid/late May and are available for registration during the entirety of the WSOP. I was going to do the same but wasn't able to make it out this year due to other travel.

Put in the picks obv.

If their contract states tips are voluntary and no % of winnings are withheld for services, that is legally binding and not a hunch.

I'm not sure what's funny about that. As expected, you have nothing to retort with.
