[B][Accountant 2/B] looks pretty bad though I’ll obviously go see it, for the inevitable cameos if nothing else.

Blue was also my favorite of the trilogy, even if it was the one that was seemingly less preferred by my peers : it would usually go in an increasing order of preference : Blue, White, followed by Red, which was usually the preferred one.

How is The Accountant getting a sequel?

This popped up on my Twitter feed today. Sacramento, 1987.

River’s Edge has to be one of the 3-4 most underrated movies of the past fifty years, right?

I find the juxtaposition of Ishtar and Help Wanted to be funny.

I was just about to go there ^ ...

are you sure that is from sacratomato?
to me it looks just like the Cinerama Dome in Orange, ca.

I lived at this place...

Alright, finally finished all the BP nominees. Here is my quick set of reviews that nobody asked for.

Anora really good, not sure if great. Almost a surreal viewing experience as it kept you really wondering if anything bad would befall Annie from the Armenians, but didn't. Maybe the last 10-15 minutes waned a touch, but all things considered with how weak of a year it was, a deserving winner given the nominees. 4/5

The Brutalist very captivating for a 3.5 hour incredible slow burn character drama. Brody deserved the win, Pearce was very good. Reminded me of Zone of Interest and how powerful the score can be. Might not recommend it widely, but I did enjoy it. 3.5/5

A Complete Unknown another tiresome musician biopic that does absolutely nothing adventurous. And the musician isn't even dead yet. God help us with this Springsteen movie coming up. I like a couple of Dylan's songs. 2/5

Conclave also a very captivating slow burn drama, almost a whodunnit suspense to it. Love the casting choices. Very good, not great. 3.5/5

Dune: Part Two the better Chalamet role. Entertaining blockbuster, theatre going experience. Thought Butler was the worst part of the movie though. Villeneuve can't do much wrong for me these days. 4/5

Emilia Perez I actually didn't mind it that much, dare I say I might have even liked it. It's not a good film objectively but at least carried a story. Contains several absolutely preposterous musical numbers in it. Totally understand why it was so divisively reviewed. 2.5/5

I'm Still Here token international film nominee. Good performance by the lead lady. Not sure what else to say about it but still enjoyed it, it's the most "real" film on the list. 3/5

Nickel Boys okay this might give ISH a run for most real film. Interesting first person POV style. Not a very memorable film overall. 2.5/5

The Substance just didn't do it for me. Good performance by Moore but she (or a recognizable version of her) is only in like 40% of the movie, Qualley got as much screentime as her. About as blunt and paper thin thematically as Barbie was, and that's really all the film has going for it. 2/5

Wicked awful. I am absolutely not the target audience for a Broadway-to-screen adaptation, and I do not want to listen to Jeff Goldblum talk out a song. Haven't had a film in quite some time entirely fail to capture any sort of interest for me, watched the first 2 hours one night and almost didn't bother to finish it the following night. Somehow I will have to endure Wicked 2 in 8 months time when it gets nominated for no good reason. 1/5

yeah, The Insider hasn't aged that well. It's still decent, but not great. Has too much of that late 90s slo-mo to church choral type stuff...jittery handheld for no reason, etc. Could've cut 30 minutes from it.

lol I don't get it

Oh shyte... the wrong video was posted. Hahaha, my bad.
Let me get on that...

Lol that makes more sense!

I'm always fascinated in this BTS stuff. Guy taking a tour around a massive warehouse of props.

G20, a Prime action thriller, starring Viola Davis as a bad=ass U.S. President who must fight off terrorists who have kidnapped all the top leaders of the world during the G20 summit in South Africa. Antony Star of The Boys plays the baddie.

It's certainly not a good movie, but it is fun if you want a mindless shoot'em up.

Wow, that looks even worse than it sounds.

heh...I enjoyed watching Davis beat the **** out of bad guys.

Really enjoying the students in both my film classes. They are beginning to put all the elements of film together and see why directors make certain choices.

I showed them the beginning of The Maltese Falcon and told them to watch for eyeline matches. They immediately got that the woman is lying because the eyelines don't quite match.

Eyelines? She's certainly shifty eyed.

In film noir, never trust the woman. Unless the woman is Thelma Ritter. You can trust her.

Doesn't Bogey say something later in the film to the effect of We knew you were lying but your money was good...

In Noir... the woman is always guilty

In Noir... the woman is always guilty

Has anyone seen the movie where Elisha Cook is a jazz drummer? The woman is the hero, although she's not billed as such.

Do you jazz?

Female jazz drummers are always guilty...
