Raises an interesting point. IMO there was a perfect point about halfway between the theatrical & DCs for both The Town & Doctor Sleep. I wonder if that’s usually true.
Obviously not for Blade Runner & Apocalypse Now, but that’s a different stratosphere of film.

she looked good then, fell off a cliff since - looks very similar to how the actress who played stiflers mom looks right now

I have it on DVD, not because I wanted it, but it came with a slightly better Michael Powell film, A Matter of Life and Death.

I once worked with a young woman named Rebecca Hall. Fantastically attractive.
Not that one though.
Warfare kinda snuck up on me and punched me in the gut, i fell down and the film just kept beating me down. it's a hard film to rate because it's the kind of film you experience. Doesn't have a twisty, thriller of a script. There are no awe inspiring war hero speeches, and the action feels realistic and doesn't have the "America! F YEAH" Pete Berg/Michael Bay flare to it. It's not a fun movie to watch, but it's certainly worth watching.
I could feel the pain and trauma the soldiers endured. The explosive moment is jarring, disorienting and absolutely harrowing. It reminded me of the bit in Saving Private Ryan where Hanks' character's hearing goes out of wack, and in slow motion he watches the men around him get shredded, lose limbs and lose their lives in massive counts. I cannot imagine what these men must feel during events like this, but Warfare feels like it brings me a step closer to understanding just a little bit.

I've maybe never seen this in a movie before but I really appreciated that Garland showed a sliver of the aftermath of when the soldiers evacuated. You see the handful of Iraqi soldiers emerge from buildings that were like 10 meters from the house they were stuck in. then the families looking at and responding to all the blood and limbs in their home. That absolutely shattered my heart.
Warfare won't have you leave the movie cheering and talking about action. I view it as antiwar, n ot all will agree and that's ok. Ray Mendoza (writer/director/guy who survived that day) will tell you it's a dedication to the brothers he fought with that day.
After I watched the movie my wife asked me what I thought. I started talking, then moments later I started crying. As an Indigenous Canadian, I have to say it made my heart happy to see D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Reservation Dogs) playing the role of Ray Mendoza, I thought he did a terrific job.
At lunchtime, came across the end of The Big Empty. Hadn't seen it for quite some time, had forgotten how much I enjoyed this weird film.
Of course, Joey Lauren Adams tends to make things better. It's one of those that's not great, but pulls me in each time.

Interestingly enough, after googling it, it is written and directed by Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland, the latter which I (vaguely) remember stating that he was done directing after Civil War and just wanted to write henceforth (but then again, he probably contributed more with writing the script, IDK...).
Unfortunately, I cannot find it in any cinema in Lima, Peru, ehhh.
i haven't seen it and yes, i've seen it glowing reviews, but afaik it's still from the guy who brought us black panther i & ii so i'm going to risk paying a ticket for it
