2025 WSOP!!

2025 WSOP!!

I know it’s early and normally I’m not excited about WSOP this soon after but dang it, I’m itching to go back already!

I made some deep runs and cashed in 2024 but still feel unfulfilled by going home without some hardware on my wrist.

2025 is my year!!

Any thoughts on how the GG purchase might change it in 2025, if at all? I suspect it will be pretty similar to last year but with more online qualifiers, satellites, and events.

Looks like the recent announcement dates were...

2024 - Feb. 16
2023 - Feb. 2
2022 - Feb. 23

In theory 2022 might have been the slowest because it coincided with the Rio --> ParisShoe move, which probably brought added logistical challenges.

I'd tentatively expect to see the schedule in the first two weeks of February.

Select event dates may be announced in late December, likely at the end of the Bahamas series.

Yes, we should see the ME, Senior, and opener around the first week of January. Seems like last year they really drug their feet releasing the full schedule in comparison to prior years. luckily for me the Senior events at the WSOP and other casino's are always starting Mid June thru the about the 27th so my initial booking is fairly easy.

Oh big note Hotel rates seem to be dramatically higher this year and rising. Horseshoe and Paris have limited comped nights for Diamond. I ended up booking at The Cromwell for a LOT less and 7 comped nights for both my stays.

Does the Cromwell have a food court or any reasonably priced places to eat? How about the parking situation?

Cromwell has nothing but Giada’s. You can walk through the Flamingo to the Linq Promenade (5 minute walk) and have access to In-N-Out, Gordon Ramsey Fish n chips, plus others. There is also a chik fila in front of Planet Hollywood. It’s opposite direction but if you are playing at Paris it’s a close cheap option.

Honestly I have never stayed (walked thru it only ) there but they have valet and that's free for Diamond card holders. I have always stayed at the RIO or Horseshoe for the convenience of staying where the events are. But the last few years I play at so many more non WSOP events it's become slightly less important. Walking across the street (even as busy as E Flamingo can be) will only add 5 minutes tops to my time to hit the Ballrooms.

Last I looked the Horseshoe rates have dropped (due to comped nights being available now) since I have booked Cromwell. The other cheap stay with Comps is the RIO. Now others can update how well they think the remodeling has come along (I haven't been there since the WSOP moved) but the nicest thing was the HUGE amount of free parking they always had. Since I have a car I tend to eat off strip a fair amount if I bust early and stock my rooms refrigerator with fruits yogart etc for breakfasts.

How you get comped at Rio is not the part of Ceasars !!!

Though last time 2 years ago I checked the Rio’s room rate was something $30 or so.

Can you buy into the Main Event online anywhere? (From the UK)

Don't fancy carrying over 10k in cash with me and my bank is useless will probably run into issues if I try to spend 10k at once on my bank card at the casino lol

Well I know for sure that you can't use a credit card. Use BravoPokerLive to register. They will have instructions on how to wire money there for the event. Good luck. Unless I can boost my poker bankroll a bunch in the next six months I'll likely never get to play the Main Event.

I was able to sign up to BravoPokerLive no problem but says I need to sign up for Caesars Rewards and it says UK residents can't register online, have to visit a Caesars property to register in person

Ouch, that complicates things. Wait a minute, this could be a giant ****ing deal !!! Caesars says you can only get a card at a Caesars property. Now check out this tidbit:
"Caesars Entertainment sold its European and African casinos in July 2021 to an affiliate of Silver Point Capital."

So how did people in Europe and elsewhere get their Caesars Rewards cards to utilize BravoPokerLive the last few years? How do people navigate this Main Event registration and payment conundrum if they don't already have a Rewards Card?

Somebody please chime in.

You're getting comped rooms at horseshoe? I am Diamond Plus and only getting comped rooms at Linq/Cromwell for all of June/July.

There's got to be another way for UK/Euros to register online surely lol

I am Gold and can get comped at Linq/Flamingo/Harrahs for all but weekends and I get some of those depending on the weekend. Horseshoe/Paris is about $50 average and PH is around $25. Cromwell is much higher for me. I play very little at Caesars so I'd think Diamond Plus would easily get comped.

2025 WSOP schedule preview announcement: https://www.wsop.com/news/2024/Dec/14051...

Main Event is July 2nd to July 16th

I'm planning on arriving a week before Main Event starts and leaving Day 5/6 (obv stay if I make it that far :p)

Day 5 is the 10th I think assuming there are 4 Day 1s and 2 Day 2s like last year

Interesting that Cromwell is more $ for you, but for me it's the only place I got comped (along with Linq). Who knows how all that works. For me it's not showing any comped rooms at Flamingo or Harrahs at any point this year.

Should I book like right now, what's the chances rooms at the Horseshoe will be sold out by say this weekend?

That is exactly how I got the comped rooms. Just followed up on an email. It was a snap to do.

They seems to be changing all the time online (not unusual) . Currently (5 minutes ago ) the comped nights I could at I could get at the Horseshoe were only July 6th - 10th 5 nights total. But the non weekends was $13 per night. Now June is NOT comped at all.

NOW I can't any comped nights at The Cromwell from June 15 thru July 10th when I have 14 comped days already booked LOL.

Personally I just keep checking to see what the online rates are showing and if I can get a better deal than I have booked I call the Hotel direct and they have always matched or beat what I could get online and change the reservation accordingly.

Book soon but you should be fine for at least a month. But prices seldom go down when you get to March. Keep checking for rate changes. Caesars properties have always honored the lower rate if you call the hotel and discuss it with them.

I just booked the Horseshoe for the Monster Stack. If it is scheduled differently than prior years I'll just cancel and re-book.
I expect no problems with the 'shoe or Paris selling out this far in advance.

I’m Diamond status and have been told the comped rooms aren’t based on your status, they’re based on your gambling.

Can confirm. We typically use my wife’s card and she hits Diamond Plus each year. This year though once she hit that mark we began using my card some during the promos to see if we could get both accounts to D+.

I’m diamond plus now too but where she’s free (comp’d), nearly every single day of every single month, I have minimal costs on most Fridays and Saturdays.
