**MOD'S NOTES: This poster ripped off several 2+2 members on the order of a couple thousand dollars, and ran away. After being caught and having his identity outted, he promised to repay but then vanished again. To those finding this from the internet, the Nick Gaskin in question is from Australia and relocated to the U.K. recently. He also likes golf, and has the tendency to lie & exaggerate a lot.
If you are reading this post, that means he has not repaid the stolen funds. Here is a pic Nick posted of himself on this on several forums some time ago. It wouldn't amaze me to learn this is a picture of someone else to be honest so take it with a grain of salt.

So 3 nights in Rome are down and it was a hell of an experience – you just don’t understand how little culture and history Australia has until you experience a place like Rome.
On day 1 we got in from Bangkok at 6:30am Rome time but we decided to force ourselves to stay awake until the evening so we can stop the dreaded jet lag. It was especially difficult for me as I 100% can-not sleep on planes – so I ended up keeping myself up for 37 straight hours.
We stayed at a Bed & Brekky near St Peter’s (San Pietro) and after we had an espresso we went and explored Rome a little and had our first authentic roman pizza.
Day 2 we went to the Vatican which was an experience I will never forget – you can’t possibly understand the history in that place or the catholic church itself until you go through the Vatican museum, the Sistine chapel and St Peter’s Basilica.
Day 3 we went to the colosseum, which again – you can never truly understand the size of it until you see it in person, it is spectacular, and if you use your imagination and imagine it when it was in its heyday with polished marble everywhere it is something to behold. Another thing we went to on the evening of day 3 was the pantheon, and also the roman forum and the mouth of truth. Trevi Fountain is also something I would recommend anyone who is going to Rome to have a look at.
I’ll sign off now as my 3G internet connection is pretty shoddy at the moment and I don’t want to lose this so I’ll sign off and post up a photo blog entry in the next day or so

Hello Leggo Poker subscribers!
So we left Perth at 4:45pm on Thursday and had a send off with Holly's family at an Italian restaurant called Da Vinci's in North Perth.
We jump on the plane and we are (un)fortunately greeted with a screaming baby 1 row in front of us to the left - awesome. This kid did not let up for the entire 8 hour flight and both of its parents needed a kick in the arse - GIVE THE KID SOME ****ING COUGH MIXTURE AND PUT IT TO SLEEP YOU USELESS ****S.
Both movies for the trip were pretty average - Bride Wars and some other crap that I can't remember the name of - it was a slow flight. So we get in to Bangkok and jump in to our Taxi to the hotel (The Admiral in Sukhumvit) which Holly & I are pretty happy with so far.
Day 1 (yesterday) was spent exploring the main shopping precint and looking at a ton of Department stores, designer shops and also some markets. We had a 30 minute massage and the guy cracked me in ways I didn't think were possible and no Australian Chiropractor or Osteopath would dare try because of risk of injury to the patient - but I felt incredibly refreshed afterwards. It was relatively expensive in Thailand terms (200 baht which is about $7Aud).
In the evening we went to Kao Sahn road and wandered around the night market and the millions of little beer bars along the main road. At the end we had a quick wander down Soi Cowboy (strip joints, gogo bars, ping pong shows etc etc) but by that stage we were both ready to go back to hte hotel.
We spent this morning just relaxing by the pool and did a 30 minute workout this afternoon we are going to go down to the river and have lunch at a hotel down there. Tonight at Holly's uncle Damon's recommendation we are going to the Old Dutch in Soi Cowboy for dinner and (maybe) check out some gogo bars.
I'll sign off now and leave you with some photos from the trip so far;

So this week has been pretty cruisy, had a day at the golf course yesterday practicing seeing as my back is getting better, but I pulled up pretty stiff today so I think some serious deep stretching is on the cards for this afternoon.
I can't believe that I leave Australia indefinitley in less than 4 days, it seems like only yesterday Holly & I decided to take the plunge to not come back after her sisters wedding in Ibiza, we started Spanish lessons aswell maybe 2 months ago and it is unbelievable how quickly we have both picked it up too, we are both definitley looking forward to testing our skills with real Spanish people speaking at real Spanish 'speed' haha.
I have spent this morning researching night clubs to go to on the Sunday night after the wedding in Ibiza with my girlfriend and her sister & brother in law, so far I have come up with this place which looks pretty freakin' awesome.
It's called 'Space' and it is one of the original massive Ibiza clubs that put the place on the map. The week we are planning on going will feature Guest DJs such as Groove Armada, Steve Lawlor and Jose Padilla so it is going to be out of this world.
A Quote from their website :
"Space enjoys something approaching cult status on the world dance scene.
Dedicated clubbers fly in especially for the opening and closing parties at which an outside stage is set up especially, and many world class DJs name Space as their favourite club.
It is located right under the flight path of planes landing at Ibiza's only airport. As the jets come swooping in everyone there and on the Sunset Terrace throws their arms to the sky and screams."
I can not bloody wait
Stay tuned for a TR!
[EDIT] We get in to Ibiza the day AFTER Eric Prydz performs at Space - DOH!
So Holly & I had a going away gathering at a local bar/restaurant called 'The Saint' last night, I had an awesome Lobster & Steak meal before we headed over the the bar to get on the turps. Was a great night but I woke up this morning suffering so I stayed in bed until about 11am before getting up to watch my footy team (The Fremantle Dockers in the Australian Football League) play on the plasma.
Unfortunately North Melbourne knocked us off by 13 points after absolutely annhilating them in the first quarter, I was especially disappointed we lost because I will only get to see one more of their games before we head overseas.
Got a pretty quiet weekend which I'll spend relaxing and generally doing not much, maybe some packing & poker, we'll see
Hello and welcome to my new blog!
I have tried to keep blogs so many times before but they just never seem to work out that well and I just get lazy and stop updating - so hopefully this time it will work out!
My life so far in brief...
I'm 24 years old and grew up in Geraldton Western Australia, then lived in Perth for 7 years then Melbourne for 12 months and now I'm in Perth preparing to travel with my girlfriend for the next 8 weeks before moving to London to compete on the European PGA tour and also the European Futures tour. I started playing golf about 2 and a half years ago and joined the Australian Professional Golfers Associated in November 2008. In 2007 I started taking golf seriously and have since accumulated honours such as the course records at Hartfield Country Club & Tasmanian Golf Club. Also the only Australian Amateur golfer to score back to back Albatross'. In 2008 I was nominated for 6 awards at the Victorian Golf Awards and took down 4, Overall Amateur golfer of the year & Matchplay player of the year are the two I'm most proud of.
My itinerary for the next 8 weeks looks something like this:
Perth > Bangkok > Rome > Florence > Pisa > Milan > Cinque Terre (Monterosso) > Barcelona > Mallorca > Ibiza (6 days for a wedding) > Valencia > Pamplona > San Sebastien > Bordeaux > Paris > Greek Islands then finally settling in London - so it's going to be hectic!
Anyway to discuss my poker story I have been playing for about 4 years and started off playing at Party Poker and also Pacific Poker. I have worked my way up to be playing 10/20 - 25/50 quite a bit. I have actually just started doing a lot of coaching and videos privately and I stake about 12 SS & MSNL players so I have been back playing around at NL50 & NL100 which has been fun. I also joined Leggo so I could change my game style a little to play with a bit more flair & aggression which is my next 'challenge' in the poker world.
After my computer & accounts were hacked a few weeks ago I have lost all of my databases which was incredibly frustrating starting from scratch, fortunately I had some pretty cool graphs and random crap still in my photobucket which I will post below.
I will sign off for now and be back again to do some actual blogging rather than drooling. So if you want to read a (hopefully) interesting golf, travel, poker & life blog, check back here as the next few years of my life are going to be really exciting!

If the age in the article is correct he was 15 when he was scamming first on here. Makes no sense.

If that's what the article was saying (that he's 31 now) then you would be correct (or close to it), but what was your point meant to be? Were you thinking OP made this all up, or did you just want us to know the newspaper got his age wrong (which it didn't)?
However, unless I'm missing something, you're not correct. You should check the publication date.

My point was original scammer was posted about here in 2009, this scammer is 31 is in 2024, unless I missed something. That means he was 16ish in 2009? That was my point.
I have no dog in this fight, if OP was scammed I have no reason not to believe them.
As I mentioned, you should check the publication date, which was 8 years ago. Unless I missed something, that would make him 39 now. 😀
