Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines?
Anyone to ask about living in the Philippines? I think that would be a very interesting thread. My cousin was there for a vacation and he said it was great. He said hot women were treating him like a rock star and his money really went far!
Thank you,

how much does a kidney cost in manila?
The rake all over Cebu is CRAZY HIGH! Higher than Las Vegas by a mile! Example if we call 50p-100p the same as $1-$2, the rake is 10%, $8 max, plus $0.50 jackpot. That's MASSIVE. Yet it's still beatable! The games are good.
Not so much higher than Vegas now a days. Horseshoe is $6+$2 now. Most other places $5+$2.
We just pay 3x more in rent than Cebu.
can you play on ignition/ bovada in the PH?
I got a bunch of USD need to trade off, want PHP or crypto. In manila. no Vig.

If there's no preflop rake, and the game is soft, then this is easily beatable and by 2024 international standards it isn't massive. Many places even in the US have something like a 6+2 rake for 1/2 and 1/3 games, which isn't much different.
Think i actually played w u before at voyager heh.
U told me u played the plo games on pokerbros rgs union. Said u come up to cebu every once in a while to pick up some supplies then head back home.
But yea. I really enjoyed cebu. Basically has everything manila has but at half the price.
Yup. I remember you. I've been playing on Pstars since I got a Pinoy Bank account. But now with the mad rush to squash POGO's suddenly, internet providers are making it painful. I am using a VPN to Indonesia at the moment.
Cheers
Possible to get studio or 1 bedroom apartments in Cebu/Manila or their outskirts for under $200? Tired of $1400 a month Vegas rental prices. If rake is about the same, might as well save on other expenses. Just need a spot to grind live 1/2 - 2/5.
Rake is not the same and I doubt Cebu has 2/5 running ever, maybe not even 1/2.
Previous poster stated rake in Cebu $8 + $0.50 for jackpot. Is it a lot higher in Manila?
$5 rake + $2 for promos most places in Vegas. Horseshoe Las Vegas is $6 + $2.
I haven't played there in years, hopefully someone who has played more recently comes by.
5 + 2 sounds around what it was when I played, but the 10% rake adds up to a lot even if the cap is the same. At least it did in the 2 5 and above where a lot of pots went heads up, I don't know about 1 2 or below.

That makes sense. Appreciate the info. Just trying to do some ground work at the moment. Appreciate your contribution to the thread.
Testing the waters living in some different Asian cities in 2025… where would be the best place to get a place in Manila.. Makati? BGC?
If you're in Manila to play live poker, you might find Makati a bit of a ride to either Okada or Resorts World. BGC is closer to Resorts World but some still journey from there to Okada. Mall of Asia is an easy to commute to Okada, but ain't much going on in the area, although there are plenty of decent condos with gyms and pools.
Uptown, BGC.

Not urgent or anything.
I want to take USD into the Philippines, more than 10K USD. Has anyone done this? What can I expect ?
I might say I'm saving up for a house, and I want to gamble at the casinos, which are basically the 2 reasons I want to bring additional funds there.
I might take around 20K USD there if it's not too much trouble. Or is it easy to send from u.s. bank account to a Philippines bank account?
Thanks,
