Hollywood Casino Aurora

Hollywood Casino Aurora

Hello all,

I will throw this one out to the field so here goes......
For those who do play brick and mortar LHE I have a question. The 10/20 limit game is very, very, loose. Sometimes in my opinion maybe not playable. Usually 6 to 8 callers on the flop (even when the half kill is in) I guess my statement would be if there are more bad players than good players on the table it becomes a bingo event. Does anyone have solid advice on how or if you can make a consistent profit it this situation? Any Hollywood regulars please feel free to chime in as well. It seems that this room maybe one of the loosest rooms on the planet and how do you take advantage of that when 6 out of the 10 players are drawing you down over and over. The 5/10 limit game is the same or worse. Then we have the crazy 1/2 NL shoot out. That's a whole nother story. I am not new to playing in Casinos but this situation is just getting ridiculous. I have tried different strategies and alot of times end up just shaking my head. By the way, has anyone that frequents Hollywood notice that there is also very little consistency in rulings? Okay I am done. I await your help and thanks for listening to the rant.

I played in the Saturday afternoon $160 NLHE tourney at Hollywood Casino in Aurora, IL today. The structure was very fast. Turbo-y. Blind levels increase every 20 minutes and quickly become a big issue. The dealer at my table for much of the tournament indicated the casino is aware of this and is planning to improve the structure sometime in the next month or so to slow it down a little. He wasn't certain about the precise implementation timing.

As for the completion date of the new casino being built, he though it was a couple of years from being finished.

I haven't played in their tournament in years for exactly this reason. I also can't stand the fact they take cash game promo money and give away tournament entries. This comes across as a promo thought up by a non poker person. As a general rule, cash game players like their promo money back in cash.

On a side note, looking forward to seeing how the new casino and poker room turn out!

The chips stick together because they haven’t been cleaned since 1927. They never start games, the floor is incompetent and they have a very stupid betting line.

I haven't been out in a while and I heard he left, but I always found Scotty to be a very competent floor.
