Horseshoe Southern Indiana (Elizabeth, IN)
It's been a while since I've played and I want to know what to expect. I'm hoping to play omaha h/l 3/6 and will probably play some 1/2 nl hold'em.
How are the Omaha HL games or better yet do they even run. It's been about 3 years since I've went and the 1/2 holdem games were usually 2-4 regs.
Going next month during the week. Just tryin to find out if it's worth sitting at a table or just play blackjack.

Game structures changing (2/5 is now full MTS) has destroyed the 2/5 games. No more than 2 tables will go on a weekend. Floors refuse to open 5/10 lists since that game will mostly comprise of players already playing 2/5. The 1/3 400cap has really altered the player pool that is willing to play 2/5.
Game structures should really be revised so there's less overlap in game sizes:
1/3 100-400 1/2 MTS
2/5 400-1500 1/2 MTS
5/10 1000-2500 MTS
The rake (6+2) is also pretty abysmal which is why I wish 5/10 would go more often as they don't take promo.
I would say the rake is more a deterrent than the structure for me. For a guy who only plays on the weekend the rake + promo are brutal as there seems to be no promotions on the weekend so rake + promo = rake to me.

Yep the rake is just brutal. Running 5/10 or 2/5 as a time game would help a lot.
The 2/5 went back to match half the stack. People do not seem happy about this.
Chris Moneymaker has opened a club in Louisville KY. Membership is a little pricey but games have been good so far and 2/5 has been consistently running.

Awful. Cincinnati has been doing this for a while too and I'm sorry to hear it's not isolated. It should be illegal to take a promo drop on hands that aren't eligible for that same promo, but of course that would require proactive regulators.
I try to resist the temptation to even take a 1-3 seat on weekends. Now that I'm local it works out great when I can play for the supercharged jackpots on Thursday nights at 10:45-11:30 pm (in Cincy) that all those weekend HE players are funding, but my Sklansky bucks windfall doesn't make it right for them to do this.
