They’re no longer called mlife tier credits, but yes. You get 75 mgm tier credits per comp dollar (mgm reward point) earned. You have to manually transfer the points from the poker room system to the main mgm system by going to the front or back desk in the poker room and asking. Then periodically, on an undisclosed and irregular but usually about once a month basis, mgm will update your account with your tier credits

Playing poker, you earn "comps". But they don't automatically get added to your MGM account. You have to go to the front or back desk and ask them to transfer them to your main MGM account so that they are accessible. They batch them up and do them once or twice a day. And I think they expire after a few days, though I'm not as sure about that. So basically you have to have them transferred 12-24 hours in advance of when you want to use them. It's a huge hassle.

Separately, you also earn 75 tier credits per comp dollar earned (we think). This also doesn't appear on your MGM account in any live way. Once per month or so they process it all and it shows up.

Or are you saying you have to transfer the comp dollars first in order for the tier credits to appear (a month later)? I don't think that is the case, but couldn't say for sure. And wouldn't put it past this absolutely shitty process. Just another opportunity for MGM to surprise and delight you!

Many of the MGM rooms do this, including Nat Harbor. It's a nice scam, since it means I have to know what I want and how much I'll spend before I leave the poker room.

The handful of times I got a couple of slices of pizza from the food court, I paid cash rather than go back upstairs and ask them to transfer over $9.

It's always been that comp dollars (whatever the earnings that you can spend have been variously called) expire after six months' inactivity on the bottom-level card and twelve months on the rest.

I think he meant that they expire if you don’t transfer them out of the poker system in a few days. But as far as I know that’s not the case, I transfer them once every few weeks and haven’t seen any get lost

No I meant after putting them onto your account for use, but it’s possible I was misinformed.

Or I might be confusing it with Bellagio, where the comp certificates they print are definitely only good for a few days.

Got the scoop on this when I was there on Black Friday.

Essentially, what you need to do is bring your MGM rewards card to the front desk of the poker room at the end of every session - give it to the desk person and ask them to convert your bravo hours into points.

Doing this will get you your comp dollars and your tier points. If you DO NOT do this at the end of your session, there’s a chance your hours will NOT be in Bravo 24 hours later thus you will lose them, so always in your best interest to collect your rewards before leaving the room.

Here is where it gets to be messy, though:

MGM will collect the data from Bravo only twice a day and at random times, so be prepared to wait up to 24 hours to see your converted tier points and comp dollars on the MGM Rewards app for available usage.

On my last trip, This impacted me when I tried to convert seven hours worth of points at 5pm in order to use them in the food court, but the points and tier credits did not show on my rewards app until the next morning when I was already home in NYC.

Suffice to say, it’s not the best system for point and rewards conversions, but I don’t think there’s a workaround with the current setup.

Once the conversion happens, the tier points will be there until the end of the year, and the comp dollars will be there for up to six months before they delete due to inactivity.

Two and a half points here are incorrect.

Your Bravo hours absolutely do not disappear after 24 hours. They do not update tier credits twice a day, they update tier credits like once a month. If you have a pearl card or higher comp dollars don’t expire.

I've left a few times without checking out, they were still in a system 3+ months later

The last time I transferred comps from my poker play it was over six months since I last played and a few months before that since I transferred points. I suspect they're good for at least a year, possibly longer.
