FireKeepers Casino (Battle Creek, Michigan)

I have heard from a few sources that Firekeepers will open August 1st. Being less than a month away there is still no official opening date.

January High Hands Sunday to Thursday .. check Bravo for all the details.

BBJ no longer has Room Share, even when over $100k .. hit at around $106 recently

MSPT went extremely well in Oct .. cash games were doing well and not inhibited by Dealer availability.

Larger MTS PLO games have been running Thursday/Friday PM and sometimes into next day. GL

Don't forget your favorite Tournament spot .. Firekeepers is loaded up as always.

1) This Saturday .. $450 Black Chip Bounty . Noon . 30k chips . 30 min levels. If/when you bust you can enter the Pineapple Tournament at 2pm

2) March 31st is a 5th Sunday .. $500 tournament as usual

3) MSPT May event is really not too far off .. Satty information should be released soon ..

Check Bravo for more scoop, including a new $200 'early bird' Hot Seat Promo Fri, Sat and Sun 930-1130 GL

FK held the 5th Sunday $500 on the 4th Sunday! How did I miss that? With Easter coming this weekend it was probably a good move on their end for both Players and Dealers. 268 entries, 30 paid with a 3-way chop after Midnight of $18k each .. more than 2nd place would've been.

MSPT Sattys have started on Saturdays .. Noon Qualifiers and 6pm direct Sattys

Make sure to check Bravo to keep up with their selection of monthly poker promotions. GL

No more royal flush or $1K HH promos. Bad beat jackpot now capped at $7500.

This place used to have some of the best promotions in the midwest. What happened?

Just a lot less action concentrated here I’ve noticed. With legal online poker, saturation of charity rooms and just ppl losing interest it’s a struggle to even get 2/5 going for most of the last year.

MGM is suffering the same fate even with the two other Detroit rooms closing the action isn’t what it used to be.

I don’t believe its online poker or charity rooms that is hurting Firekeepers Poker Room, I believe over a year ago they took away the opportunity to earn tier credits (by logging 200 or 400 hours) towards your players card, once you reached the tier of Gold or Black Cards from Poker you received many benefits and including dinner and half off drinks, so when they took that away there is no incentive for people to stay at the poker tables. And a side note people will go home and have dinner and the half off drinks always enticed drinkers to gamble a bit more than they should. So after a year of doing that the number of hands dealt has dropped drastically which in turn has hurt their rake, promo funds and I’m sure the dealer tips as well. They also have now dropped any bad beat promo just recently. I also believe they have lost a lot of the Kalamazoo people to Gun Lake Casino as Gun Lake gives you $2.00 an hour towards food and Firekeepers only does $1.20 an hour.

It is sad to see as every time I used to go there the staff is very good and room was always clean, where as Gun Lake does Not even have poker in a room, they have 10 or 12 tables set up on casino floor with slot noise and band music nearby to bother the players.
