seems like the PLO is the only thing keeping this room alive. sat in one of the deadest 2/5 games i've ever seen waiting for a PLO seat. there was a list 10+ deep for PLO with multiple tables every night. .

Depends what you mean by alive. If you mean busy, that's the 1/3 where middle-aged and old ppl play bingo and try to hit a high hand. If you mean what gets the money flying around, yeah the PLO seems like the beating heart.
The dealers have generally been pretty good but I had one the other day who was over-raking almost every pot, including trying to drop the entirety of a $7 heads up limped pot. It's bad enough they're doing the round-up (so a $23 pot gets $3+2 taken) and a bomb pot gets $12+2 taken out.

I've played $1/3 in a dozen rooms outside of Detroit/Toledo and I must say it is not great back home.

With the impeding tax laws taking effect in a month I am considering taking a break from online and going back to mainly live poker in 2026.

Any 2/5 regs in here can comment on the current landscape at MGM?

Detroit is a historic American city known for its role in the automobile industry and music culture, especially Motown. Once called the Motor City, it is now rebuilding with new businesses, art, and innovation. Detroit reflects resilience, cultural pride, and a strong sense of community despite past economic challenges. sso id

Does security scan evberyone's ID when entering at all the casino's, I've ready MGM does.

I just renewed my license and applied for the Real ID today which takes 5-10 business days to receive. I am leaving Monday to drive from PA to CA to visit family and will be making stops at various casinos along the way and they said my current license will no longer scan which I did not think would be an issue beacuse I'm 40 and bald and never get carded at my home casino or generally in public. I didnt think about venues that scan everyone.

Im also hitting Chicago, Iowa, and South Dakota if anyone knows of casinos that scan everyone who enters.

MGM scanned my ID every time, even after walking outside for 3 min to take a call, a few months ago

On Tuesday night there were 4 full 3-3 pot limit Omaha games running at midnight while 2-5 nl game broke before 10pm.

Feels like Omaha has officially taken over at in metro Detroit. Would love to see management make the NL games all 1/3 match the stack the 2/5 really seems to be hanging on by a thread.
