Winstar World Casino (Thackerville, OK)

Hi Winstar Regulars!

I was surprised to see there was no running thread for Winstar.
So I am starting this thread.

To start of the thread I have few questions.

1. Do they spread 1/2 PLO game? I know 2/5 PLO game runs on weekend but I do not want to risk too much.

2. Would anyone be interested to start this game?

i know this is a long shot, but......

i'm looking for 1 or more players who may be driving to/from WSOP 2024 from texas and wanting to stay around 2 weeks or so. i am driving out there due to fear of flying & medical issues, and need another person(s) to drive with. i (42m) will be staying with a buddy of mine (25m), at horseshoe. we are chill, no partying on the strip, no slots/pits, just focus on poker during trip like real poker junkies. we have gone for a few years now and really enjoy the series, look forward to it every year. we are mostly cash players, with some tournaments mixed in. my friend is flying in. if you want to room with us, that would make it cheaper for everyone (if not, that's cool).

i have made the drive for many years now. it is a 2-day drive, solo, ~10 hours per day. but maybe can make it a super long 1-day drive with myself and one or two more people to split driving. obviously we would need to meet as a group beforehand, make sure we get along, can stand each other for long drive. also, will be using my vehicle (roomy, nice 4-door truck). i will eat most gas expenses, since this would primarily be accommodating me.

right now, looking at May 29-June 12 timeframe. but i can be flexible to adjust to everyone's schedule.

PM me if interested. looking to get booked soon.

Apparently, WinStar will be migrating to Poker Atlas in the near future.

Anyone have info on PLO games that run here, stakes, buyin limits, straddles, etc and whether they permit vlogging?

I don't check it as often as I check DFW, but I can't remember the last time I saw PLO at Winstar. It's almost all at TCH Social now. They have a lot of games going daily. You know they're on Bravo if you want to keep an eye on it?

Not much stand alone PLO at Winstar anymore, but a 1-3 round of each hold-em / PLO ($5 open) happens randomly over the weekends.
Bravo is already gone. All the hardware is being installed for Poker Atlas this week and will be up and running as soon as the software install is verified and traning on new system is complete.

Are you still working up there? One of my favorite dealers ever! Hope you're doing well.

Thanks, appreciate the responses!

Yep, still there! Thanks! 😀

Winstar just got new player chairs. Nice padding, swivel and easy to slide on the carpet.

Are there a good amount of games going on Saturday's? I'm thinking about heading up there to check it out, it's been a couple of years since I've been there to play poker.

They just moved to Poker Atlas so you can always see what's going on at a given time.

On Saturdays they will have plenty of 1-2 and 1-3 games, a couple of 2-5, 1 or 2 games of 4-8 Omaha H/L with a half kill, and at least 1 game of 4-8 LHE.

Apparently the tent structure containing the poker room, bingo hall, and sports betting collapsed during the recent ice storm. Poker room is closed with no official statement yet on timeline or plans.

Over three months now and crickets from Winstar regarding the poker room. Supposedly they are rebuilding the structure but no timeline given and no temporary poker room. In the biggest casino in the world there is apparently no space available for a temporary poker room.

To me, it's the lack of information given that is both ignorant and insulting.

Poker is the black sheep of any casino. It has more moving parts, costs more per square foot to operate and generates less money than the real money maker (slot machines). It's rare they'll get much love or attention from the bean counters
