Both the restaurant and the bar have re-opened, and have been so for three or four weeks.
The hofbrau is gone, presumably for good. Order food at the cash register, towards the back. You can also order online at https://oakscorner.revelup.online/store/...
There is no table service, although you can bring your food on a tray, or your drink, to your seat the table.
It's a pity about the table service. I want the fun players' drinks to flow freely.
This is good news!
Strange they don't offer table service.
I've played at the Oaks twice in the last 10 years, but back when I was a regular at the 6-12 holdem decades ago, the Ethiopian waitresses were nice. Now those ladies are dealers.

I still don’t understand why the dealers here can’t be bothered to cut the deck after pulling from the shuffle machine. I’ve played all over the world and everywhere else cuts the deck before dealing.

If none of the dealers there cut the cards, then it's not that they can't be bothered, but that they were told not to do so.
I recently played at Bay 101 and the dealers there also didn't cut the cards after taking them out of the machine.
Procedure is what the room wants and they will want every dealer to do βitβ the same.
Why the room doesnβt want a cut, you would have to ask them. But some possible reasons, though not saying any are theirs or even make sense:
Not needed so save time
So hand shuffle and machine are different (but why would the even want such)
Less handling of cards so less chance to flash or other errors
Because some silly mgr thinks it makes cards less randomized
Yet another possibile reason - so players can't blame dealers for the cards they get.
I'm not trying to be a downer but I've been really disappointed with the Oaks post COVID. The room doesn't seem to be getting the traffic that it used to. In my experience lately, there's only 1 or 2 tables going of each NL stake while Lucky Chances across the bay seems to get 3 or more all the time with more action, deeper stacks, etc.
Does the 30-60 lhe still run?
The only LHE at the Oaks is 6-12. For a while, post-lockdown, they tried to get the 15-30 going on Friday nights, but it got off only intermittently, and eventually they gave up trying.
Basically the club is running at its current staffing capacity, something like eight, maybe eleven tables maximum.
Hi everyone,
Iβm looking for any information regarding this vintage Oaks Card Club jacket I recently found in Poland.
Itβs a Hartwell "Tournament John Winner" edition with the "Steel Wheel" on the back. Iβm curious if anyone remembers these being awarded or recognizes who "John" might have been back in the day (likely 80s/90s).
Any leads on the history of this piece would be greatly appreciated. Photos attached.
Thanks!

It might be worth a shot to contact Oaks management to find out what they know.
I tried email and social media but no response
