Driving: Essentially, all directions end in the Oxon Hill Road Exit. The local exits of 495 north will lead to MGM National Harbor, while southbound exits on 495 should exit to Oxon Hill Rd.
Public Transit: NH2 bus -- https://www.wmata.com/schedules/timetabl... -- which connects with metrorail at King Street.
Shuttle: There is a shuttle that runs from National Harbor.

Self-park: "While the resort will move to a paid parking model in the future, Self-Parking for our guests will be complimentary during the opening period." Johnny recommends floors 3 and 4 near the elevators as the ideal spaces for poker room parking.

RAKE:
10% to $5 max on games below 5/10.
$7 per half hour on 5/10 NL/PL; 15/30 L.
No flop, no drop.
Reduced rake in effect when there are 6 players or less.
BAD BEAT JACKPOT:
$2 jackpot drop ($1 @ $10, $1 @ $30) on jackpot-eligible games.
Quad 7s beaten, pot >=$10, both cards must play in both the winning and losing hands, and kicker must tie or beat the board to qualify.
Both cards must play; kicker must at least tie the board kicker.
Split is 40%-20%-40% with a player share for anyone dealt into the jackpot hand.
MISCELLANEOUS
NLHE games are 10-handed at 1/3 and 2/5 and 9-handed at 5/10 & up.
PLO games are 9-handed.
LHE games are 10-handed below 10/20 and 9-handed at 10/20 & up.
There is no betting line; the racetrack line is a courtesy line.
Players in the hand may talk about the hand when heads up, but no cards may be revealed.
UTG straddles are allowed in NLHE. Mississippi straddles are allowed in PLO.
Running it twice is permitted in time-raked games. Maryland law requires only one flop, but allows for two turns and two rivers.
New players must post in limit games and higher-limit games, but not in low-limit games.
Players with a live hand may request to see other hands at showdown, but any hands shown in this manner are live.
The poker room will use KEM cards.
PLAYER BOXES: Hundreds of boxes are available for a $100 deposit and $100 annual fee. The annual fee may be waived based on frequency and level of play. Boxes must be accessed at least once every 90 days.
COMPS: $2/hr in pot-raked games; $3 in time-rake games. Comps expire one year from the day they were earned. No comped or reduced rates on hotel rooms.
FOOD: All food options available in the food court/market area will be available in the poker room via dedicated food runners.
Free WiFi is available. Players will be allowed to use electronic devices unless their use slows down the game.

I personally dont have a ton of worry about being mugged, but thats because I take necessary safeguards, and have read posts on here about what to do to avoid it, one of which is to try and take an elevator by yourself.
I'm going to Nat Harbor tomorrow. If I step into the elevator and some kid starts to piss his pants, I'll make sure to say "Hello" to you.

I usually have $10k-$15k in my pocket when I go to MGM and do the same thing - take the elevator by myself, look around to see where people are in the garage/ensure I'm not being followed. It's basic safety precautions when carrying a meaningful amount of money.

I'm wondering if anyone was playing late night Saturday at table 32, as I'm interested in how the night ended for a particular player. There was a guy in seat 6 who was really unpredictable. He'd raise $50 most hands or would re-raise $12 or $15 opens to $100 and rip the flop or turn. If he lost, he'd immediately re-buy for $500. Just wondering if he made a comeback or how long he lasted. He had been there at least five hours by the time I left.
He blew his nose in a $100 bill (really), was drinking double tequilas, and was trying to fist bump all the dealers... but honestly, other than that he was a nice dude.
Just curious how his story ended that night. Hope he made a comeback or at least got home safely.

I've seen similar types of players (albeit sober). They buy in for the 40bb, and do like you said.
if they lose, rebuy for 40bb. rinse/repeat. Sooner or later they get lucky or actually have 2pair+.
then people are less likely to call because they know it'll be 200bb+ by turn.

I played with him. Blind bet preflop every hand. Called non callers a pooooo sie. Tipped big. Called a 4 bet preflop shove for 550 three way once with 64...won that one. Eventually lost everything and reached his banking withdrawal limit for the day. Nice guy though.
Please no more nine handed. It was terrible today and I decided to quit.
Sunday was really bad. Lucky table/seat is the worst promo ever. It just promotes stale action. Should be a high hand triggered the lucky table with the winner getting 888 and $200 table share every 30 minutes. That woulda been really fun.
Running normal high hands seems to bring in decent crowds on Sundays. I don't know why they keep changing the promos, especially on Fridays and Saturdays, with these weird multiplier promos.
Anyone play the tourneys in this room? I play almost exclusively cash but I'm thinking of running a few $200-$400 tournament buy-ins. How is the competition?
Does anybody know if they are doing anything special or different on Christmas eve, Christmas day, New Year's eve, or New Year's day? With the holidays falling in the middle of the week, I just wondered if there might be something different going on.
The amount of people who pressure other players at 2/5 into straddling has become very annoying. Why do you all care if not everyone participates? It’s their money they can do what they want. If you want to do 2/5/10 every hand then go to 5/10 and stop complaining.

Because they lose EV to players who are not doing it, so it is not fair.

It's good for the game and makes bigger pots. They always straddle at 5/10 to 25. Maybe you are just not able to afford 2/5 scarred boy and should go play 1/3.

Nobody should ever be pressured to straddle. If there is someone not straddling and you can’t afford to give up the EV edge, then you are the one you needs to consider what adjustment you need to make. If it makes the game better and you have an edge, you should be able to make enough even if a fish isn’t giving up this EV.
IME pressuring recs to straddle will harden them to refuse or drive them from the game. You may say great the next player will straddle. But that next player might have the edge over you. Also remember you can shear sheep repeatedly but only slaughter them once.
Honestly if you don’t have enough edge that fish isn’t straddling, maybe it is you who needs to consider dropping down is stakes.

Or maybe YOU should go to 5/10. Who really cares if someone isn’t straddling? We’re only required to post the SB and BB. The amount of bitching and moaning about someone who isn’t REQUIRED to straddle has seriously gotten ridiculous the last few months.
If anyone ever gave me a hassle about not straddling, I'd just say, "I wish I could, but I'm on Social Security now."

Of course those straddling don’t get hassled for straddling. I assume you meant the fun recs are not getting hassled if they don’t straddle. If so this is different from what others are saying.
If you have to have weak tight nits straddle to win, you prolly do need to consider your game. You want to play bigger with more dead money in the pot. That is fine but you should still be able to crush these weak tight nits.
Regardless, you have provided no reason for me to alter my position, no one in any game for any stakes should ever get hassled for not straddling. As long as they are posting per stakes, it is their decision
