Word Poker (and other poker themed games I made)
Ahoy maties! It's been over 13 years since I last posted here. I hope you've all been doing well 😀
I used to play a ton of poker but got out of it and transitioned into making video games. Lately I've been making games based on my experience as a poker player, and thought you all might get a kick out of them! All my games are playable right within a browser, or phone, no download necessary.
My newest game, and my first ever multiplayer game, is called Word Poker. It's got a simple elevator pitch. It's no limit hold 'em, but instead of playing with a standard deck of cards, you play with cards with letters and values on them, kind of like Scrabble. Instead of trying to make the best poker hand, you're trying to make the best word. Length of word impacts your score as well (you can use all 7 letters), and your best word is automatically calculated, so you don't need to be a good speller. It uses a room code system where one person hosts and others join via the code.

I've also made Scrongly, which is a single player roguelike deckbuilding game similar to Balatro. Basically you start with a standard deck of cards, and earn points by playing good poker hands. Once you reach a score threshold, you can go to a shop where you buy more cards for your deck and items that make your run different, like needing less cards for a flush or gaining extra money by discarding aces. After the shop, the score threshold increases and you keep going until you get to round 30 or you fail to reach the score threshold for the next round.
Lastly, I made a quick little daily game called GridPoker (no space for that sweet sweet SEO). You get dealt 5 cards, and place them on a 5x5 grid, and when you lock them in you get dealt 5 more until the grid is filled out, your objective being to make the best hands in each row, column and diagonal.

Thanks for taking a look at my stuff, and I hope you have some fun with it. I always loved this community and I've spent the last little while just browsing around and feeling the nostalgia. Poker obviously had a big impact on me and this community was a big part of it, so I appreciate all your time.
