Battlefield 6 Discussion Thread

Just played the Open Beta today. Was a vet of BF 1942, BF3 and BF4. I had gotten the gamepass to enjoy BF 2042 and they tricked me good so didn't rush into pre-ordering BF6.

Here's my review after playing multiple matches today:

PROS:

- Sound is phenomenal, really immerses you. I don't think I've ever been as immersed in battle before
- Doesn't take 27 shots to kill someone
- Destruction of buildings, etc. is amazing
- Being the gunner in a chopper is a blast
- Mowing down infantry in a tank is a blast
- Movement feels pretty good as infantry
- Not a bunch of bunny-hopping & sliding sweats
- Debris, smoke, fire, etc. all create the feeling you're in a war zone, and also can cause some confusion and fog of war at times.
- I'm on an older 8GB RTX 3070 (my cpu is newer, Ryzen 9900x 12-core) and it played fine on 1440p
- bunny hopping buffoons from COD are easy to deal with since they try to solo everything and get wrecked

CONS:

- Flying the chopper feels sluggish, like a boat, wasn't much fun
- Haven't flown a jet yet so can't comment
- Shotguns overpowered, absolutely wrecking people
- Recoil on guns too low

One other thought or suggestion for new players. Tanks are strong and can lay down some massive firepower. But, their armor is strongest at the front, and vulnerable at the top, sides and rear.

Just because you're in a tank, don't go rushing in alone thinking you'll cap a flag by yourself. Let infantry advance ahead of you, and also have some infantry guarding your flanks/rear.

You provide supporting fire after your advance infantry flush out enemy troops. When you are comfortable your flanks and rear are secure, then advance, ESPECIALLY in urban maps. If you just barrel through, you're gonna have a bad time cause engineers are going to be dropping rockets on you at your most vulnerable sections and your tank will go down quick.
