Let's talk about Stream and buy mountains of games

I thought we might like to have a Steam offers catch-all thread, and maybe even any general discussion about the service.

Like many of us here I have been using Steam since it first appeared with Half Life 2. Initially it seemed pointless and intrusive, but we put up with it because, well, we needed to play CS:S and HL2. Over the years I have found myself buying more and more from Steam and now I pretty much exclusively buy my games there. In fact Valve have so got their model sorted that I would pay a few dollars more for the ease of having it in my Steam collection rather than the hassle of hard copy install.

This is not really necessary though since these days if you wait around for offers you can end up owning more than you can ever play. I have Batman, Far Cry 2, Bioshock 2, Borderlands, Torchlight and much more just half played or not played at all. All of these have been purchased at a reduced rate.

Anyway rather than waffle on further the reason I started this thread is to point out

--->

Left 4 Dead was my game of 2008 but I had enough other stuff to play and was a bit pissed off that they released 2 so quickly afterwards that I didn't buy it at full price. Now I am immediately picking it up. Sadly for you hardened players you can expect a wave of n00bs to arrive due to this deal.

That is all, feel free to add any good Steam offers as and when they appear to this thread and also to discuss the Steam service in general.

Been playing some steam next fest games which I had never heard of before.

Mandragora and somber echoes seem like the big winners so far.

Finally home and got the chance to install and play a few rounds. I think there's a mechanism inside the game to sent an invite to friends, let me know your Stream id and I can add and try and invite you if interested.

First impression is... it is a lot to take in at once. I wouldn't call myself a

I've played 24 hours now of Deadlock and it's growing on me.

It's not perfect by any means, still definitely needs a bit of tuning but it has a bit of its teeth into me. Addicting like League to understand how to play and build, and how all the various interactions go.

Think the GUI needs some improvement, it's still incredibly busy on screen but more playtime helps to temper that.

If anyone is playing, add me.

This happens when the most recent post was deleted before you read it.

I too saw that, and wanted to hear what Brayanvkb had to say.

going to visit an old friend from highschool

he's told me i need to purchase age of empires ii because he and some other kids from high school have been playing it together so i'll need to join in

AOE 2 will never die.

Free half-life 2 for that one person that doesn't have it:

Available until Sunday.

I should play it again sometime. But I say that about like 10 games a month.

Anyone getting stuff in the sale? Lots of 80-90% off, which is price point I can afford!

Looking at getting Kingdom Come + DLC's and maybe Vermintide 2.

I bought Prince of Persia the list crown but haven't played yet.

Heard it's a very good Metroidvania

This really is a yuge sale. Virtually everything on my wishlist is discounted, and most by >50%.

Now I just have to justify buying more games when I still have so many I haven't played yet.
