Figured I would get this thing started since a mod still hasn’t changed the title of the 2022 thread. Let’s just start o

The committee, in essence, told FSU that wins don’t matter. So what incentive did the players have to play the game?

Wins and losses should matter, the best teams don’t always win and/or make the playoffs. Was FSU one of the best 4 teams in the country? No. Did they deserve to be in the playoffs based on their record? Absolutely.

Just a bunch of suits trying to make themselves relevant.

With that argument 13-0 Liberty should be in, too.

Yeah if fsu went through the PAC or SEC undefeated there’s 0% chance they would be left out, but it wouldn’t be an issue because they would have 2 losses min in either of those conferences. the whole “undefeated P5 should get a auto bid” is completely arbitrary when there is such a massive gap between the top 1-2 P5 and the #4-5 P5 conferences

As far as 2023, what is there really to talk about. They played nobody all year. Their schedule was a joke.

They beat 3 teams who were matched with lolbigten teams in bowl games. And those 3 teams are on the verge of 3-0 in those bowls this afternoon. Tell us how that "joke" schedule reflects on the big ten, again? And it's certainly not UGAs fault that the big ten teams bitch out every time they try to schedule a home/home.

And I would get into the absurdity of whining about UGA's "luck" given their history, but I'd hate for you to start painting the walls with your own **** like your buddy scotch over there

^lol who is the Guy Icognito guy and why’s he talking about me?

Might be my first 2024 test, my resolution is to be less harsh

fwiw I think even though he won the Heisman, Jayden Daniels is still underrated. The advanced numbers suggest he's the best player in the history of the sport:

10.6 YPA against teams that would allow only 5.8 YPA, and 1208 rushing yards on 108 carries (excluding sacks) and only 4 picks.

This year's LSU offense grades out as the best offense in the last 20 years I think

Wisconsin $$$ML$$$

let's goooo

I'm still taking LSU 2019s offense over them. If I'm wrong I don't wanna be right.

Bowl game arguments can't be taken seriously anymore for obvious reasons. Michigan's schedule was a joke too. We basically had a 2 game schedule. Penn State and Ohio State. Going 1-1 vs that deserves nothing. Had to go undefeated like Georgia.

Edit: Also, not whining. I don't care that Georgia got lucky. I'm not an Ohio State fan or Bama fan. It's their job to whine about Georgia's luck.

Oregon -530, inauspicious beginning

How many players are missing for Oregon?

Iowa 3 and out -3 yards then 62 yard punt. all is right with the world

Betting against Liberty reminds me of betting against those mid-2000s Boise State teams.

reading Bill Connelly's CFP preview and losing Zak Zinter is probably what's going to be the straw that breaks Michigan's back this evening

Star right guard Zak Zinter was lost for the season with a leg injury during the Wolverines' win over Ohio State. He was the team's best run blocker, and it appeared he was missed against Iowa: None of Blake Corum's 16 rushes in the Big Ten championship gained more than six yards.

KJ Jefferson to ucf. Nice pickup for malzahn. Curious why he went there though. Gus not exactly known for developing QBs

Michigan will be fine. The Iowa game is a horrible data point. Michigan played super vanilla knowing that they couldn't lose.

As far as injuries, yea losing Zak is not ideal but overall Michigan is running hot in that department. Outside of Zak everyone else is healthy AFAIK. To get this far only losing one guy--who is not your QB--is really good to me.

There’s gotta be legit less than 10,000 fans at the Fiesta Bowl right now.

Well there was Cam Newton...and that is his idol or something...

Update: Auspicious second quarter

Basically unimpeded offense? What is this, like every other LSU game?

Feel free to quote this when I inevitably get both of these wrong:

Michigan -2: This 2023 UM team is about as good as a Michigan team can possibly be, which is still significantly worse than a peak Bama/UGA/LSU team but luckily for them this is a down year for the elite programs with UGA not being in the playoffs and Bama fielding possibly their worst team in over a decade, a team that narrowly avoided losing to ark and that needed a miracle 4th and 26 to avoid losing to a horrific auburn team. Michigan sneaks the title this year by having all of the puzzle pieces come together at exactly the right time in the same fashion that the Mavs won their title in 2011. And much like the mavs the clock will strike midnight and they will go back to being a solid program but this will be their last title for a very long time.

Washington +4 - When in doubt go with the team with the better QB, and Washington has a significant advantage at the QB position in this game. Washingtons O-Line vs UT D-Line is going to be the key matchup here, Texas will to need to suffocate Penix and get 4+ sacks for them to have a shot at winning this game because their secondary will not be able to handle Washington’s elite receiving core for any amount of time. From what I have seen from Wash’s O-Line I think they can hold UT D-Line at bay and give Penix and their elite receiving core enough time to pick apart UT’s secondary, Washington wins this one in a shootout 41-35

DJU to FSU
home vs clempson next season

Update: Auspicious second quarter

and third
and fourth

watch out if Oregon can keep Lanning for an extended period of time
the program is in it's best place ever
Chip had teams and a scheme, Lanning a system learned from Saban and Smart

Aaaaaaand there's 3-0. In a blowout win. Against the lolBigTen division champ. With a backup QB.

Every. Single. Year.... and yet the Big Ten slappies will be right back at it next year with the "soft" SEC schedule bitching. I would compare them to the primate exhibit at the zoo, but at this point even primates have more self-awareness.

Not a bad take but Michigan will be primed to repeat next year. JJ is coming back (my prediction obv). And we have a lot of 5th year/6th year potential coming back on our deep OL. And our defense should be the best in the country next year with an NFLer at every level.

I agree that Washington is gonna win. Got $750 on Wash +4. It's a LOCK!

Once again, the B1G is getting exposed as frauds in bowl season.

I’m not rooting for Alabama, but now the world will be watching for this one.

Saban has 9 wins against the number 1 team. No other coach in history has more than 4.
