Update April 2018

OK Vlogger Thread, we are going with some new parameters to try to make this the POSITIVE vlogger thread that it is supposed to be, not the AIDS vlogger thread where a few loonies ruin it for the rest. Note that 'positive' does not equal 'only positive', it means anything negative being said CAN'T be namecalling or wild, unsubstantiated speculation regarding any and all vloggers. Personal lives and anything aside from poker is OFF THE TABLE.

A new update March 2019:
NO ****ING POLITICS!
In his latest video Rice seems genuinely flabbergasted that the low stakes player pool in LV refuses to pay him off when he gets big hands. Some of the hands he mentions where he basically coolers players and still they either get away or lose the minimum against him.
I would imagine it can become quite vexing for coach. Except he puts it down to everyone just being super tight like himself, he doesn't realise thats it's his uber nitty table image which is working against him. Those same players
Just watched it myself. Also its freaking amazing the way he talks about the ubernitty Vegas games, and how lots of his reg opponents simply doesent put any money into the pot without the stones. Like Rice himself isnt a part of the problem lol. So many of the 1/3 or 2/5 NL games in Vegas is basically unplayable especially during daytime, and regs like Rice is a big big part of the reason why this is the case.
Its just hilarious, this is the classic no self reflection stuff going on wich many regs have. They want action, straddles and big pots- but they want everybody else to create it for them so they can just sit back and pocket the easy money without losing a fraction of EV.
I always preach this to other regs i come across, if you want people to give you action and play a higher amount of big pots with you the ball is on your half of the court. Start to play some more hands even if you stretch it a litle bit, start 3 betting light pre once in a while, start to find some ways to stackoff without the stones, put the straddle out there even if a couple of miserable nitregs refuses to do it or cries about it.

Yeah he was definitely describing himself wether he believes it or not. If the games are so tough to beat why does he stay there for 3/4 of the year? Go to Texas, Oklahoma, Florida or Maryland. Hell even the games he described at Mohegan Sun sounded amazing. There’s so many places with much more beatable poker games but that comes with higher variance and the possibility of getting stuck more than 2 buy ins, so that’s completely out the question for Rice.
Also higher cost of living which I imagine is the biggest reason.

Very true.
He gives the hypothetical scenario of someone making $8 per hour and playing 3000 hours in a year. He admits that he lives off less than $24k annual income. It's possible he put out that $8 per hour number because that's what he made last year.
If that's the case then he's a sicker puppy than I gave him credit for. I couldn't imagine a more miserable way to make your way in the world. He would be significantly better off doing literally anything else other than what he is doing.

Yeah, and the 3000 hours pr year example is just insanely laughable. I mean good luck playing 3000 hours pr year at 1/3 live in Vegas. You are gonna feel so miserable after a while that you wish you had never started to play poker at all.
I am all for big volume to smooth out swings, maximizing EV and all that kind of stuff, but to talk about 3000 hours pr year is just absolutely crazy.
Wow, the most YT comments on that video this early I think ever.
Does Diesel understand table image? I get the feeling that any reg from the player pool that has played with Diesel rightly has him pegged as a super nit and can insta muck when he dusts off his chips and throws them in the pot.
In yesterday's video he said if he could go back to 2014 Milwaukee where I think he said he made $18 to $22/hr over a 650 hour sample, that he would make double now because of his skill and knowledge that he possesses now vs back then.
Rice, the tightest guy at the table, complaining about tight poker players.

That's one of the things I like about Mariano's videos. He's all the time giving action.
Don't give him any ideas.
Tax evasion for two companies starts looking like a RICO prosecution.
If it's anything at all it would be violation of the local "cottage industry" laws, not tax evasion.
They could have 2 companies, one for suckers, err, lollipops and the other for brittle. Each of them owns one company. They aren't married, just splitting costs. I bet that would fly in court.
Surprised he gave this comment a like.

Yo- can definitely confirm how good the LV players are. I never had the desire to invest the time in learning how to beat these tough games. Good for you. Go Gamble!
I agree with most of his comments about the games but disagree when he says you only win small amounts when you bluff (and lose a lot when the bluff fails). I’m surprised he said that.
Someone said 3000 hours to make 24k sounds like torture and Rice said he would love that holy ****.
His explanation on bluffing not being profitable is also classic.
3000 hours to make $20,000 sounds like hell

Lol he just says anything. Reality is that he's never gotten anywhere close to 3000 hrs in a year. Last year he struggled to play 1500 hours. As soon as things start going south his first instinct is to stop playing and take shelter in his room/bunker. That's also his secret to never losing more than 2 buy-ins in a day.

Of course he hasn't. It's basically impossible anyway but he always takes his well deserved 2 months off in Dec and Jan.

It's especially unlikely for someone like Rice with all his room/table changing he has to do in order to find new unsuspecting victims. Someone here estimated that would effectively deduct 20% from his hourly rate. I'd say thats being overly conservative. I'd ballpark it at at least 25% so in order for him to get 3000 hours would actually require him being on the job for 4000
He just should work at 7/11 already, they always have hiring signs he could work as much as he wants, and will make like 50% more than he currently does
All Diesel has to do to figure out why the games are so bad in Vegas in general is would he pay off something like himself at the table? How would he play against players like himself overall?
Who are the players he struggles against the most? Is it action players or people prone to bluff so you have to call them down lighter?
It really is hilarious how he has zero self awareness and not taking his thought process to the next level and understanding people are adjusting to him as they gain more information and now you have to adjust to your own table image to stay a step ahead.
Or just make $10/hr max and cry the games are so bad and there's nothing you can do to improve it.
