The GOAT has been banned
In what can only be described as the biggest travesty in the history of modern global sports Joey Chesnut is banned from the hot dog eating contest because he is endorsing a rival hot dog
History is watching, Nathan’s. Shame
So there's a "Major League Eating" who puts up those events and pays him an appearance fee to participate in events like Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest?
From their statement:
For nearly two decades we have worked under the same basic hot dog exclusivity provisions.
As far as this thread is concerned:

I am ****ing irate!
Damn! I thought SRM was getting perma-banned but was given one last chance to say goodbye to all of his fans.
It doesn't matter, would have been just as boring as the NBA finals. Chestnut needs another Kobayashi to make it interesting again. Chestnut is more efficient and clearly the better eater, but nothing will be more entertaining than prime Kobayashi.
There's probably a lot of parallels with poker and competitive eating.
I see this as parallel to WNBA star Caitlin Clark not being invited to play for Team USA.
I'd love to watch her eat hot dogs.
I was initially pro Chestnut on this until I clicked the story and read that the competitor hotdog is vegan garbage purveyor Impossible. Totally unAmerican. Bet the Saudis are behind this somehow.

Wouldn't they be into sabotaging a pork hotdog eating contest instead?

She's a McMuffin person.
Old news. GREEAR got banned over 5 years ago.
Joey Chestnut and Takeru Kobayashi -- the top dogs of the competitive eating world -- are ready to eat in the same arena for the first time since 2009.
The two gastronomic icons, who have won a combined 22 Mustard Belts at the Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest, will face off in an all-beef hot dog battle against each other Sept. 2 in an event to be steamed on Netflix.
So basically, is this plant-based hot dog brand equivalent to LIV Golf?
Hope this thread wasnt what got srm the ban
i don't see anything ban-worthy in his recent posts, maybe something got deleted though?
this thread was a self-fulfilling prophecy smdh
Not sure if he's going to invite our resident Aaron Rodgers fanboy to his next wedding.
(Does anyone know what kind of appearance fee Joey Chestnut collects?)
Heard this on the radio. They said his agent said... my brain froze and I heard nothing else. A guy eats as many hotdogs as he can in an event and has an agent.... You are telling me this world is real?

I googled for it. The WaPo reports that Chestnut got $200k last year appearing at Nathan's Famous and they apparently had offered him a $1.2mil contract for appearing for the next 4 years.
FWIW, I thought Nathan's probably had to pay ESPN to broadcast the event. But it looks like ESPN is actually paying for the rights.
Out early for good behavior???
You can’t stop SRM. You can only hope to contain him!
#Legend!
