SIDES - Inaugural Game Thread
In this thread, we will play a new word game called Sides. It's somewhat similar to codenames, but cooperative and diff
P8 is a huge stretch
If the rules allowed me to give 2 clues back to back I'm not sure I could do this.
H12 or N6 are the keys. N6 is better, just need a decent lead in.
I think O7 to N6 is the winner
O7 is shadowfaxy for sure, but really I only care about getting to N6
O4 could work as a good and safer lead in to N6
I like o8. Almost certainly doesn't get there on its own, but should work combined with n6 I think. Also has a very small chance of binking if we're lucky.
Fire O8 and I’ll hit N6 if they don’t get it imo
overalls
Well...
It's something not so easy so not pants or jeans or blue
Could have something to do with straps/stretching idk
Nothing coming to mind immediately; had a busy day, will noodle on this this evening to see if anything comes to mind
Nylons the first n6 that comes to mind as another clothes type connection
Could be needle
Needle would be stuff like what, sewing, stitch, button, knitting
Overalls could be for
Clothing - but pants etc woulda worked for generic clothing
Suspenders, straps, etc
Buttons, buckles, pockets
Farmer stuff
Needle works for hay but no horse clue means not hay
Needle works for tailor but no Panama or Kingsman movie clues
I dunno and Iβm too busy to put time into this to figure out their other clues
Maybe we just go thread in case itβs needle and then see what they clue next and move this along?
Thread could work, what was wrong with the hay idea?
You say they woulda mentioned horse, idk about that - and from other side clueing I think you've aggressively disqualified the right answer due to a lack of a certain word mentioning - not saying it's wrong here but wouldn't necessarily count out hay imo
Hay is for horses is pretty strong to not think of it while they are working on shadowfaxes
No Oz so not scarecrow
There could be a farm word in here and it may not be needle; it is more likely not needle than is needle
If it is needle then thread and haystack are the two most obvious
But either one I donβt see bolt saying he couldnβt clue with 2 back to back clues given needle for thread or haystack is pretty obvious
So really I donβt think we bink in one so mostly just wanna get to next clue and wanna do either a sewing word or a farm word so we find out if on the right track as well
They also had 11 letters to clue against so lots of options for farm stuff or sewing stuff
Maybe its suspenders or something more directly overalls?
Could be something like haystack cause that seems impossible
well we had hay before in this thread which means we can't have it again
and I doubt the game has both hay and haystack as words
so either we find another farm word or we go the clothing/sewing/suspenders route
What about some kinda tractor, till/mill, plow or something along those lines
I think we need a second clue so doesn't matter much; guess whatever you want, just not hay since we had it before
ok we gotta do something
they all knew what overalls was so it has to be something pretty related to overalls or they wouldn't have all known what it was
overalls are jeans + bib + straps + buckles
if it's jeans they coulda done pants so that kinda removes jeans, pockets, shirt, buttons, prolly buckle, etc.
n6 could be napkin, so the word could be bib...no b or d or other obvious letters for bib here, so this could be it
if it's strap, you'd think o2 for on woulda been clued; can't think of an n6 for strap; also wrist strap, which also wasn't clued
buckle: maybe passenger? maybe WWE because you win a belt buckle? also maybe just pants then...also u2 for up woulda been mentioned
could also be suspenders...but no v4 for vest, no n7 for necktie; can't think of an n6 for suspenders so the fact that they have a great n6 makes me think it's not suspenders...this would be a tougher word to get if it's suspenders
i'm just gonna call an audible and go bib so we can move on
at least we'll get the n6 and get an idea if clothing or farming was the realm to be in
also handkerchief is indeed an h12
