2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
I've heard that the Flock will be doing it's community drafts every Monday and Thursday. Does anybody know at what time this comes out. These tournaments fill quickly. I really like the structure of this tourney.
Pitts is probably the best upside pick there with the onesie element plus the fact you already have 3 strong WRs. I still try my best to have 4 WRs through 7, but sometimes I'll challenge myself with something like 1-2-3-1 through 7.
Also possible that Hopkins, Addison, or Jamo is there at 92. If not, I think you can still fill it in with Doubs, Jeudy, Cooks, Gabe, Adonai, etc. types.
I like getting Mike Williams later as well. If he is healthy he could be very solid. Unfortunately, there are some WR's I was happy to grab late who are looking less likely to hit.
I was heavy on Big Mike early then have backed off since he started falling. Although, I've still been mixing him in some when he falls. My problem is that I like Polk and Gabe Davis more. I also like the reports of Dotson playing in the slot, since I mix him in too.
There are definitely some WRs to start worrying about and stop drafting for the most part. Although, some of them I haven't been drafting much of and I'm not really overweight on any.
Marvin Mims - 3%
Troy Franklin - 8%
Rashod Bateman - 4%
Jermaine Burton - 6%
Quentin Johnston - 4%
Luke McCaffrey - 8%
Devontez Walker - 8%
Darius Slayton - 7%
I'm still in on Malachi Corley (5%), Roman Wilson (5%), and Javon Baker (11%) and like when I get any of them in the 18th. I'm also still drafting Malik Washington (4%), but I haven't seen much about him. Jordan Whittington is emerging as an interesting click. At least I only have 4% of DRob.
It's also tough for me to want to draft DRob, Tolbert, Chark, Boyd, Jennings, Burks, Ray-Ray, etc., so I think it just emphasizes even more securing WR early. Right now, I'm only okay clicking Dortch, Iosivas, Hyatt, and then the 4 I listed above. I guess Osborn and Bo Melton aren't too bad, either. I really want to be drafting QB, RB or TE in the last few rounds.
Anyone else you're backing off of? Or any of the guys above you're still staying on?

Flock 1 was released at 8 pm eastern on Thursday 8/1. It filled in roughly 4 hours.
I think the other 2 were released around 8 pm eastern, but I can't find them for sure.
Since we are talking about late round guys . Thoughts on Van Jefferson ? I think he sucks but he also seems locked into the Steelers wr2 role .
Last few drafts I've been getting sniped on all the elite/2nd tier TEs or they're going super early.
QB - Jayden, Tua
RB - Bijan, AJ, Stevenson, Ray, Khalil, Mattison
WR - London, Waddle, Cooper, Terry, Lockett, Dotson, Corley, Slayton
TE - Muth, Otton, Jonnu, Wiley
I don't think either is a good pick would rather just bet on Roman Wilson emerging by the end of the season.
Evidence of WR sucking over multiple NFL seasons overrides any potential perceived w1 role, imo.
And at this point, I'll be pretty surprised if Aiyuk is actually moved to the Steelers. So that's why I'm still taking Wilson.
I think they're trying to give drafters fixes with short contest windows, while hoping people will draft the other contests when there isn't a new contest available. Even that German Shephard with 22k entrants and 10 max entries fast drafts only was filled in roughly 12 hours.
August is kind of an annoying time to draft. Most of the sites are trying to fill contests that have been open all summer, while not really having slow draft options available anymore on new contests.
June and July is peak draft season from an offering standpoint, imo.
I've had to draft more on DK because of it.
But I'm reaching the end of slows making sense with the way the clock speeds up near the start of the season.
Gonna be one of those drafts. I should go Nico/Tank to start just to troll the Stroud guy
QB - Caleb, Baker, Nix
RB - Rachaad, Stevenson, Charb, Chandler, Davis, Roschon, Sanders
WR - Chase (at 1.10), Puka, DJM, Godwin, Sutton, Mooney, Mcmilan, Patrick
TE - LaPorta, Bowers
@mong, Flock 4 is live.
Gibbs hammy. Should be nice to get some Gibbs fall and for Monty to rise. Interested to see what the timeline is.
Sione Vaki season (he’s on my taxi squad in my dynasty startup haha)
Guy must not have seen the report. The first slow I entered after the news I drew 1.12 lol. Guess I'm going WR/WR.
Thanks!
This is my first Flock 4. Pick 6
I thought I had a bunch of nice QB outs and whiffed on almost all of them. I should have reached for Caleb. He looked really good this weekend. I ended up going with just two QB's. I'm gonna pretend Watson gets back to his top five form. I hate the week 17 game in Cleveland though. I need to stop taking Waddle. It's gonna be freezing during the playoffs.
My RB's are sketch after Pollard so I went with the rare 7 RB build. CEH is out again with an "illness". Could this be his PTSD acting up? It's the second week in a row he was absent with an illness. I feel like Prince could have a chance here. I still think Kimani might be a late season riser even though it's not going great for him yet.
Per usual, I immediately made a mistake in this one. I grabbed Kelce in the mid fourth thinking maybe I could get Mahomes on the way back because no one would be doing the Hollywood pick. Then I quickly realized that somebody certainly would be doing the Rice/Mahomes thing. Then I quickly realized that Mahomes was picked right in front of me. I could have taken Flowers at a good price.
QB) Tua, Watson
RB) Warren, Pollard, Charbonette, Irving, Tracy, Vidal, Prince.
WR) ARSB, Waddle, Metcalf, Allen, Odunze, BTJR, Jeudy
TE) Kelce, Fant
Montgomery just went in the 4th
Gibbs went pick 7 in my Flock draft.
this was a rare one. duel week 17 qb and going with the najee/jaylen combo
QB - Kyler, Stafford, Nix
RB - Warren, Najee, BRob, Wright, Kendre, Laube
WR - Puka, Kupp, Pittman, Reed, Sutton, Gabe, Burton, Zay
TE - McBride, Musgrave, Dulcich
Sounds like a wide range of reactions to the Gibbs news so far lol.
