Little League World Series

Little League World Series

Tournament starts in a week. Aug 20-29. I'm thinking about heading down to Williamsport.

I also want to bet on it but don't imagine lines can be found anywhere.

Discuss here.

bump for this year

I'm in. Go Henderson, NV!

They were garbage in their first Mountain regional qualifier but have been rolling ever since.

LLWS final going on right now and it's a nailbiter.

Lake Mary is my hometown. LFG!!

Whoa. Just tuned in.

Goldberg walking it off is a lock

Goldberg sucks

Lake Mary base coach really needs to work on his hand waving. So passively tried to send kid home. No wonder he didn't run. Might cost game.

not trying to score from 1st on a double with 2 outs...oof. taipei booted the throw in from the outfield, he would have scored.

He’s out by a ton barring incompetence if he ran

Taipei ****ed

Lolololololololol

Are you ****ing serious

It's 12 year olds. Incompetence guaranteed.

Goldberg is not camera ready

GJGE from TAIWAN.

It is cool that the Chinese team all went to the same school.imo

Great run through the losers’ bracket by Florida.

Florida was pre-tourney favorite.

I knew who won because of the legend JOMBOY!

I don't even like baseball

Watching the little league World Series this year was pretty disgusting, knowing we should have been there, knowing we were the best team in the world. Little League DQ’d us a few games before Williamsport.

The way Michigan runs their state tournament is incredibly wonky. There’s 4 4 team pools, with the top 2 teams advancing to single elimination play. It’s an horrible format for the favorites. Straight 2 game knockout allows for a pure champion to be crowned. Our 4 team pool featured 3 teams that all would have have a chance to win the LLWS. By far the 3 best teams in states in the same pool.

Anyways, we won the pool going undefeated. Multiple pitchers throwing 72-75mph. We had the team. A debt that can never be repaid has been racked up. Taylor North (8-0) DQ’d.

This was the real ****in’ squad right here boys. Blake in back with the eye black. I’ve had another son, he’s 1.5 years old right now. Will pop back in 10 years from now once we clinch a spot in Williamsport, where we avenge his older brothers injustice.

I still enjoy watching the LLWS, but it is absurd for 12-13 year olds to be playing on such small fields and without leadoffs. My 8 year old pitches from 46 feet, plays on 65 ft bases and 210 ft fields. Most 12 year olds are playing on 70 ft bases, 250 ft fields and pitching from 52 ft.

Right, but they are also swinging absolutely nuked, trampoline like action bats. The bats you have to use in Little League perform extremely close to using wood.

It’s much more difficult to hit a homerun in Williamsport (225ft USA bat) than it is to hit a homerun on (250ft USSA bat) and it’s not close.

As far as the bases and leadoffs, I agree…. However, it would cause the games to move at a snails pace. Little League games move at break neck speed if you have two pitchers throwing strikes. It’s a great watch. For that reason, I don’t see them ever allowing leadoffs.

Also, there are no 13 year olds that ever play in the LLWS. Ever. Travel you can play the entire season as a “12” year old while actually being 13.
