NCAA FOOTBALL 2024 MEGA THREAD - WELCOME TO THE PLAYOFF ERA
Just 8 days until Florida State plays Georgia Tech!
A lot happened while you were away:
Texas and Oklahoma joined the SEC
The Pac-12 went out in a blaze of glory:
Oregon, Washington, USC and UCLA are headed to the B1G
Utah, Arizona, Arizona State and Colorado are headed to the B12
Cal and Stanford along with SMU are somehow headed to the ACC
Poor old Wazzu and Oregon State are now aligned with the MWC in some sort of in-flux relationship
The conferences are huge now, and the schedules are wildly imbalanced. Florida might have the hardest schedule in the history of the sport, while Missouri's playing a sun-belt slate.
FSU and Clemson play each other, but then play ZERO common ACC opponents
Utah/Baylor and Arizona/Kansas State play non-conference games against conference opponents
LSU and USC play in Vegas!
Boise goes to Oregon, a team they've never lost to!
Texas at Michigan!
Alabama at Wisconsin!
Notre Dame at ATM!
Clemson vs Georgia!
And there are some incredibly juicy new conference matchups:
Texas @ ATM is back!
Texas vs Georgia
Oregon vs Ohio State
USC @ Michigan
USC vs Penn State
And then the bizarre:
UCLA @ Rutgers is now a conference game
Syracuse plays home and away against Cal and Stanford for some reason
Half the teams have new coaches, transferred quarterbacks, or both!
Let's get it on!
Is UCLA about to lose to Hawaii?
The B1G does not claim UCLA yet.
Texas Algaes.
"able to get up and jog off"
Kid limps off mostly on one foot.
Hoping he's gonna be ok, of course.
Irish O line so inexperienced it’s still in its shrink wrap. Gonna be a long night unless protection improves.
I remember the McCoy injury well. It didn't look all that dirty or anything. However Saban was dirty in going after QB's imo. He used coded language "Knock them out" ostensibly meaning knock the team out, meanwhile his guys were throwing forearm shivers to the helmet of Deshaun Watson as he was down or going down, uncalled.
Well I wonder if UGA would have made the 12 team playoff last year. You know going 50-2 or so with both losses to Bama in what, at least the first time was seen as irrelevant to them getting in the 4, and should have been irrelevant the second time. It robbed us of the chance of seeing a 3-peat bid and a potential super dynasty develop. And that's a bummer.
Hawaii!!
Hawaii 10
UCLA 0
Halftime score
Wow UCLA is hottttttt garbage
Idaho 👀
Oregon looks bad too. Not quite as bad as UCLA, but still bad
ND with a redass playcall. Aggression pays!
Pure guts on that 4th and 1 at their own 34
Good god, what a bad spot imo.
Too bad, ND.
eta: and a bad review, too.
Crap call.
I've watched about one play of college football this year and it was some terrible spot followed by a terrible review
aTm QB is all kinds of ass
Finkle is Einhorn. Michigan is Iowa.
At least we have the best kicker in the game.
Gabriel is 33/38 for 390 yards and Oregon has 14 points?
How many aggies does it take to catch a running back?
Kiffin is absolutely shooting for 100 isn’t he?
