POG PUB 2024: A New Year, A New Thread, A New You
It was an honor to spend 2o23 with yall. And I look forward to spending 2o24 here too.
Happy New Year!
This is the first cruise that didn't have a poker table in the casino.
Rip
You definitely get tired of eating. Cruise eating is a skill.
how long is your cruise? where is it?
I never came remotely close to getting tired of eating lmao. I'm highly "skilled".
I wanted to eat 24/7
You dig for about 2 minutes and realize this is a complete bullshit article, tbh. Clicked on the link for average salary for entertainer...because I've had friends who did this work through college and thought the amount listed was a bit high. The link takes you to a page that gives you the average salary for those positions in the entire US. Not just for cruise ship employees. According to the link you posted, Atlanta is the best city to be a cruise ship entertainer, lol. You click on the boati
who knows what's true? and also who cares? vibes are more important than facts. I vaguely remember reading some proletariat propaganda about cruise workers from the Philippines, and it was absurd. they had to work like 7 months with 0 days off. and made something like 10k.
the entertainers didn't have to work many hours iirc. the pay was low, but you got a free cruise. you have to share a tiny tiny cabin with no windows.
to me, some of them seemed to be having a great time, and some seemed miserable. the few I met while out hiking seemed to be much happier than while on the ship.
I never saw any of the shows, but I did see some live music, just while I was eating on the deck. sometimes they'd have a live band playing. I liked pretending the musicians were divas, and they pictured themselves as rock stars while they played, and no one paid attention to them. again some seemed to be having a fantastic time, and even acted and played like rock stars. some seemed miserable and ashamed.
They pay you essentially in a manner where your stay on the boat is considered lodging, taken out of your pay. So depending on where you are in life, this might not be a bad thing. My friends in college who did this work loved it until they started getting wives and having children and realized they couldn't afford to provide for them back home. I considered doing this work myself, even was offered a residency playing jazz at a bar in Hong Kong, but turned them down because I realized I couldn't actually save money and get ahead in any way, although it would have potentially been a ton of fun and very interesting experience. The cruise thing tho...was not interested in playing the same rehearsed show over and over for 6 months for $10 an hour, even if it meant my "rent" was paid and there was a ton of free time. At the end of the day, your free time is still on a boat where you have to act in accordance of the rules of being a cruise ship employee.
my fantasy football draft is about to start. I'm sooooooo nervous!
Kaepernick for the messaging. He may get picked up!
Should probably take Aaron Hernandez too. Sleeper pick.
I would go for Messi.
well that did not go well. 10k down the toilet
yahoo gave me a D
fantasy pros gave me a B, and also predicted i'd finish second. so I have a chance. but the draft was waaaaaay tougher than I thought it'd be. I got incredibly unlucky. I had the 11 spot in a 12 man league. and the two sharps were 10th and 12th, so I kept getting sniped. if I had picked 1st though 7th, I probably would have crushed despite all my players getting taken early.
oh and my computer glithced in the 13th round(16 rounds total). I was clicking on the player I wanted, and it woudln't draft!!! time ran out and it auto picked Bengals defense for me!!!! fml! I have no idea why it did that. but it was lucky cuz I wanted to pick them anyway, but wanted to take them in round 16, not round 13
their defense is meh, but have an easy schedule to start
the format is PPR and 3 WR
also I got so ****ed in QB. I wanted Daniels, and got sniped. so then I was just waiting til Tua or Lawrence. but there was a run on QB and people were taking backups!!!! then I should have just not even drafted a QB at all, but I panicked cuz I was having problems with the software, so just picking whoever I could at the end ugh... I think I took them in rounds 14 and 16. idk
anyway, blue eyed samurai on Netflix is great! best show i've seen in a while
Also, do you not have a kicker?
Brock Purdy is fine for your starter imo. I lucked out on Mahomes, and got Tua as my backup. They have a bye the same week tho, so not sure what to do with that. My first time actually participating in a FFB league.
Side bet??
Hi there hello
Your draft looks fine to me filthy.
It's pretty good, though I wasn't crazy about the ending.
Next season isn't until 2026 LOL.
I'm only half way through.
no kicker league

QBs are easily replaceable on waivers. just look up who has a good matchup for the weak, and sign them off waivers.
I would kill for Tua as a starter, let alone backup lol
hey pogcrazy
yeah it's ok, but I was expecting much much better. I hate my WRs, I love some bench RBs I didn't get that I was gonna reach 10-20 picks for, and didn't get ANY of them, same with WRs... NONE
I'm happy with my TE. I think he could be TE1, but who cares? **** TEs
Tua should score more fantasy points than purdy, especially to start. tua is playing weak defenses for something like the first 6 games.
and miami's defense is worse than SF. SF should take a lot of early leads, and then just run the ball.
miami is gonna pass pass pass pass
and Tua has probably the best 2 WR of any team.
meanwhile ayuk was a holdout til just the other day, and very close to getting traded.

A+
Hey Eric,
I just went through Japan airport security. Wow those guys found stuff that got through years of USA airport searches. e.g. My son had scissors (RIP) buried in the bottom of his backpack that has gone through many many scans. They also found baby scissors in another bag that they inspected and then let go.
Also, RIP to my daughters deodorant. (Too big)
Looks like an AI/remote scan followed by a human scan/search. All our carry-ons except my wife's got flagged. lol
