phenomenal

Saw Goose open for TAB at Mohegan awhile back. They were good.

Haven't been listening to much Phish of late, but YouTube fed a mature Talking Heads dose from last night...

But then again, there's next level Amsterdam, '97...

Phish has been covering Cities all the way back to 1984.

One of the great voices.

Dreams; the most painful of all delusions! So wonderful to sing about.

Painful, perhaps, but after courage, the only things that will keep you going.

Stevie Ray firing on all cylinders.

Stevie Ray Vaughan - Crosscut Saw

The reach of Hank Williams should never be underestimated.

Hank Williams was a God and should be worshiped as such. Down on the bayou!

(The food is great also!)

In that case, let us turn to the Book of Rockin' Dopsie, Jr.

Joe Bonamassa - "Taxman" - Live at The Cavern Club

One deserves another...

It's likely I posted this in the past.

I've never heard the No Quarter lurking at the end, but would very much like to.

Much like Jeffrey Lebowski, I hate the f*****g Eagles, but even I have to admit that Hotel California is one hell of a song.

I don't get the Eagles hate. Is it the genre? Do you hate the Burrito Brothers? Pure Prairie League?

Juice Newton's version is the cover, but this is better. John Cole knows what I'm talking about.

The Burrito Brothers never really crossed my ears. Pure Prairie League was ruined for me when my 18 year old self had a girlfriend in '77 who had a roommate that played Amie over and over and over and over until she switched over to Foghat and played Slow Ride over and over and over and over until she went back to Amie.

As for the Eagles, my ear found them simultaneously pedestrian and pretentious; perhaps they just didn't fit my teenage sensibilities. When they were at their peak, I was kinda drifting between the Dead, New Wave/punk, modal jazz and a bit of glam.

Years ago we had a music draft for favorite songs, and Dave T pucked this number one in the draft. The more I listen to it, the more I think Dave T made the right pick.
