2024 Fantasy Football Thread
Welcome to the 2024 fantasy season, where I'm officially addicted to best ball. I've been drafting since the end of Jan
anyone hearing anything about marshawn lloyd from gb when hes expected to be back?
Brob is like 30/40 spots behind Diggs on etrs ros rankings. I try not to lose trades that badly on future projection even for needs.
I don’t disagree with trying to upgrade the rb room, but I’d try to do better than Brob
That sounds way off. I just looked at FBguys and fantasy pros ROS rankings and Brob was ranked higher.
Diggs is 35, brob is 81 there. Albeit they update Tuesday or Wednesday so it’s a week behind. They have it set at .5ppr 2rb/2wr/flex I believe
By actual value it’s not as big a difference, basically + Shakir gets you to within 10% value in their trade calc
I’m guessing that brob moves up a bit in their update, but I don’t think it’ll be close enough to make that trade for me at least
Doesn’t matter if Hunt doesn’t look great when he gets 30 touches + some goal line work. Just keep running him up the gut for 3 yards per carry.
Just had worthy outscore Kamara and win by .4. Really thought I was done on that last drive with the saints just checking it down
It's funny listening to the hive debate whether you should pick up Steele or Perine when the answer is Hunt.
I think we need to retire the word "dust" as in a player is "dust". I heard it from everybody that Hunt was "dust". He clearly was brought in to be the guy while Pacheco is out. People thought Carson Steele was gonna be it.
Today I listened to a couple podcasts and on both Ju Ju was called pathetic and was a big fade of theirs in tonight's showdown. These guy's just don't know ball. It was pretty obvious that he was gonna be playing the Rice role. Yes he did nothing last week because he wasn't part of the game plan.
27 for 102 is pretty dusty. Only 1 target.
You can still be dusty and produce on 28 touches. I think the Chiefs wanted it to be a committee, but Steele fumbled his way out of it.
Hunt’s going to need to score TDs, because I don’t think his fpts are coming from big yardage and receptions. He got one tonight. Worthy also got one.
Juju looked pretty good. Maybe he was able to clean up his knee problems.

Your powers of hindsight are really impressive
Good ****.

This shows you why people missed on Hunt. They look at YPC and don't realize he gets tough yards better than the Chiefs alternatives. He has a nose for the endzone and he is great in short yardage situations.
I made the bull case for him earlier in this thread when people were laughing at his chances.

Andy Reid doesn't like to have committees at RB. He wants a receiving threat like Hunt who can also pass protect. Steele was never a serious threat to be the lead back for the rest of the season.
Does anyone have any thoughts on Mahomes ROS? Who are some buy low QBs you like more than him ROS? I feel like he can't continue to be this bad but the Chiefs defense is elite and it limits his upside.

The most obvious one is AR, but that comes with it’s own massive downsides and not sure ppl would be selling yet

Tough yards doesn't equal fantasy success. As I said above, I think he's going to need TDs to get there, because he's not efficient enough on yards per carry or receiving at this point in his career.
Bull case is a pretty loose description of what you actually said. You basically hedged in both directions.
I think he'll be inefficient in the run game, but will pass protect, catch the ball out of the backfield, and score more TDs than he should. There's definitely a chance he's completely washed but I think it is a good gamble by KC.
Don't think any of the three will be anything more than a flex on a consistent basis. I do think Hunt has the highest upside though.
He knows the KC system and thrived in it. People overrate non-star talent and underrate opportunity. The median outcome might very well be doing absolutely nothing relevant for fantasy football. But there are paths where he becomes a top 20 RB the rest of the way.
Also, think we'll know very quickly which it will be so he won't take up a roster spot for too many weeks.

What? Reid has been running committees since he had to cut Hunt for being a piece of ****. While Hunt had 28 touches, he still only played 63% of the snaps last night.
I never argued Steele or Perine or Hunt would be the lead back. I argued it would likely be a committee where all of them had capped upside. Steele's fumble problems have lessened that outcome. If Hunt touches the ball 28x per game, then sure, he's a projected volume start with TD upside. But I'm guessing he will settle in at 15-18 touches per game, with limited target volume and goal line vultures, just like we saw with the Worthy end-around from the 3.
Mahomes is done from a fantasy ceiling perspective. The sample is too large at this point to ignore the lack of upside. He had hope to regain form this season, but with both Rice and Hollywood injured, he's going to remain a low end QB1/high end QB2 with a high floor but capped ceiling.
I think Hunt has basically had the nut runout (short of returning to prime form, which was impossible) and is still projected as the rb37 (111 overall) in ROS rankings. Definitely a player worth rostering and there’ll be some td dependent spike weeks for sure.
So yeah I have admitted I was too bearish on him, but even being wrong it’s not like he’s a locked in must start player
for a buy low in redraft, Tua. or Lawrence but last week's big game may have hurt your chance at a buy low. Also, Herbert.
I still like Mahomes long term for dynasty but the manager isn't going to let go of him at a bargain.
As for Hunt, him keeping his knees off the ground on the td was awesome. He was also wide open where Mahomes opted to shovel pass to Kelce, who got absolutely crushed. Hunt scores there easily in the flats untouched. Agree with everyone. He's going to need td for fantasy success. This KC team is reminiscent of Brady's early elite Patriots teams and 2018.
Also 2nd and 34. No problem for KC lol!
Depends on who the manager is haha. Mahomes shipped from contender to rebuilder in one of my dynasty leagues a couple of days ago. SF, start 9, non-TEP. Mahomes, Moss, 2026 3rd for Reek, Stafford, Taylor and Sermon.
In a vacuum, I'm taking Mahomes there, but if Reek is Reek once Tua returns and Taylor/Sermon can produce as RB1s when featured, then it could work out this season. He's currently 5-0 and in first place. His roster has some solid pieces, but not a ton of depth. His other notable QBs are Hurts, Fields, and Flacco.
I have a non ppr redraft team that has saquon, kyren, Jordan mason and jacobs and I’m somehow 1-4. My wrs are deebo, Pickens, worthy and wicks. Would you trade jacobs for Jayden reed? Start 2RB/2wr/flex, non ppr
Depth at rb is Brooks (IR), Bucky Irving, Braelon Allen
It’s go time for Drake.
Hoping Polk and Henry will have a production boost. Should ideally help Mondre and Gibson too. No other skill players on that roster are worth a damn.
