Survivor: GENERAL THREAD
I wanted to post something Survivor related but realized there's no general thread about Survivor. Each thread is about a particular season or votes for hottest, best, etc.
Given that who knows when/if the show will come back, here's a general thread to post all things Survivor.
I won't ruin the OP with my content post, so it will come next.
Enjoy and come on in guys!
one of the better new era seasons this far imo. great cast.
apparently rachel is an online poker player.. rooting for her now

Latest interview with Probst about S50
'We want players who are also excited to be on it,” Probst explains. “This is not Winners at War. It doesn't mean we don't want players who are going to play hard. Of course we do. But it means we're also big-picture trying to celebrate 25 years, and that means joyful players who are in a good mood and want to play. We’re not looking for disgruntled players looking to settle a score. We're looking for players who want a second chance, who have something to prove to themselves'
I can see them doing something like a cast full of S37-S48 contestants and then incorporating 'legends from the past 25 years' in the form of rewards/advantages.
Example Boston Rob lives with you for 3 days and works on your shelter, Rupert to catch you loads of fish, Ozzy/Joe gets to play on your team in an immunity challenge and so on
My draft cast prediction currently (not a prediction of who I personally want)
S37 - Christian, Angelina
S38 - Rick Devons
S42 - Maryanne, Jonathon, Drea
S43 - Jesse, Karla
S44 - Yamyam, Carolyn
S45 - Dee, Kellee, Kaleb
S46 - Q, Charlie, Tiffany
S47 - Rome, Teeny
S48 - One man one woman
One concept I've always wanted to see is giving tribes the ability to take a player from another tribe and then give them a player from their tribe. Individual swaps that the tribe chooses. It would change tribe dynamics early and be an easy way to give tribes a perceived advantage if they want strength, someone who can provide, etc and also create animosity between players early on.
With the three tribes of six players I feel like this would be a great way to shake things up early.
Production decides instead of getting more creative with challenges, they're going to **** the players even more to up the stakes.

I thought it was a better than usual twist; physically separating people led to some interesting gameplay.
Teeny remains the strangest player - gets lots of attention, but completely fails in anything she tries to do and her main allies constantly get voted out. Of course also she's always on board to vote out any male player lol.

The ironic thing is I imagine a lot of fans will come out of tonights episode having Genevieve as their frontrunner to win the season and Teeny as virtually drawing dead.
Whereas I still feel confident in my merge assessement that Genevieve is virtually drawing dead and Teeny is one of the 3/4 people who can still win
I don't know how many more episodes I can get through having to hear Kyles annoying voice. Nails on a chalkboard.
My initial thought is that I hate this, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised.
I'm guessing it won't feel that much different, with an extra 30 minutes added to the pre-finale episode being the only real material change. I guess we'll find out.
Yeah, that final two episodes won't really make any difference except to stretch things out a bit. CBS probably needs to because they don't have TAR back to back (no idea why).
Can't see Teeny going any further than F6 or so because she's such an easy target and will never win an immunity. Basically zero strategic skills IMO.
Just me, or did Sierra look hot as hell as the first jury member? Damn.
It's definitely a female winner, just remains in my opinion to be seen if it's Sue, Rachel or Genevieve. Andy probably the zero vote finalist dragged to the end. Kyle and Sam obviously drawing dead. Gabe thinks he's going to stick around and then will get blindsided around F6 as well.
Basically my F3 is probably Sue/Andy/Rachel or Caroline/Andy/Sue with Gabe/Teeny/Genevieve out in final 6 to 4 in whatever order.

Essentially it's just having a finale which starts at 4 rather than 5 I guess, cant see it being much different.
Agree with Teeny likely falling in the 5th or 6th spot. Was always worried about that when making her my merge winner pick but was struggling for other viable candidates. Now annoyed with myself that I completely slept on Rachel as a winner contender who's had a perfect Erika style post merge so far.
My updated most likely to win rankings are;
1) Rachel
2) Caroline
3) Teeny
4) Andy
5) Sue
big gap
6) Sam
7) Genevieve
8) Kyle
9) Gabe
I'm the only one who finds it annoying we have to watch the finale in two parts? Maybe I'm the problem
The last few finales felt rushed to me
So no, I'm not annoyed that they are slowing it down
Three hour finales are always horrible. Ninety minutes is long enough. Christ
Ah yes, the classic ‘we’ll wait until next vote to get the threat out’ strat, then the next week everyone gets amnesia and forgets about it
So much for the diverse cast.
Can someone give Sue a facecloth.
Also props to Sol for doing his best Chong Li impression at tribal. What guns.
I think she played sidt and then looked for a reaction
If she didn't like the reaction I think she would have played it
The edit made it seem like she was trying to gauge the reaction. If so, nice read since she didn’t have one vote cast.
I guess she could regret burning SITD, but the odds suck anyways.
Okay, so now I'm pretty sure Genevieve, Teeny, Sam, Kyle all drawing dead.
Can't see Sue getting anything except maybe to FTC due to her edit, she's literally invisible.
Andy talking way too much to not be either knocked out at fire or zero vote finalist because he thinks he's so damned smart.
Dark horse could be Caroline if she starts making some moves, but she's almost in the same boat as Sue.
That leaves Rachel, if she gets to FTC she's clearly the winner.
Why is Sue's face always so damned dirty looking? And Genevieve is looking scary skinny at this point.
