Edit: RULES FOR THIS THREAD

2+2 Rules

Posting guidelines for Politics and Soci...

These are our baselines. We're not reinventing the wheel here. If you aren't sure if something is acceptable to post, its better to ask first. If you think someone is posting something that violates the above guidelines, please report it or PM me rather than responding in kind.

To reiterate some of the points:

1. No personal attacks. This is a broad instruction, but, in general, we want to focus on attacking an argument rather than the poster making it. It is fine to say a post is antisemitic; it is not okay to call someone an antisemite over and over. If you believe someone is making antisemitic posts, report them or PM me. The same goes for calling people "baby killers" and "genocide lovers". You are allowed to argue that an action supports genocide or that the consequences of certain policies results in the death of children, but we are no longer going to be speaking to one another's intentions. It is not productive to the conversation and doesn't further any debate.

2. Racist posts and other bigoted statements that target a particular group or individuals of such groups with derogatory comments are not allowed. This should not need further explanation.

3. Graphic Images need to be in spoilers with a trigger warning.

4. Wishing Harm on other posters will result in an immediate timeout.

5. Genocidal statements such as "Kill 'em all" etc, are no longer permissible in the thread.

If anyone has any questions about the above, please PM me. I don't want a discussion about the rules to derail the content of this thread. If anything needs clarifying, I will do that in this thread.

Please be aware this thread is strictly moderated
it didnt get much news but yesterday Israel killed 3 Lebanese soldiers. seems like a weird strategy when they are begging the Lebanese army to take out Hezbollah for them.

That doesn't speak well to its credibility.

The UN has been one of Hamas’ loudest supporters so them making a big stink about Hamas’ supply lines being compromised isn’t surprising.

None of the recent articles seem to suggest that these groups have been the ones stealing aid the entire time. What they do seem to suggest is that now, in areas where the IDF have significantly weakened Hamas, there are opposing factions filling the power void. If the IDF wasn’t there, it’s logical to assume Hamas would still be the ones stealing aid.

Europe is much more safe for everyone, including Jews, compared to the US. Of all the reasons one might choose to live in the US over Europe, safety is not one of them. Europe has more Islamist and antisemitic violence per capita than the US, but it is still extremely rare, and not statistically going to move the needle very much.

It is true that UNRWA directly and knowingly employs Hamas members. But that is not the main problem with UNRWA. If UNRWA was a decent organization working towards a reasonable, functional future with a couple bad apples that would be tolerable. But it isn't. UNRWA itself is rotten to the core.

The main problem with UNRWA is they themselves function as part of the violent resistance movement. Through their schools they promote violence and Jihad and encourage Palestinians to fight until the last Jew is driven out of Israel. And they themselves materially support violence and intolerance, by actively smuggling in materials to support the Palestinian war machine and by providing moral support for violent Jihadists, and bad faith criticism of Israel.

Even more the Hamas, UNRWA itself is a main reason why the situation is so dysfunctional. Through their cynical support of violence and Jihad and antisemitism, they are the worst enemies of the Palestinian people. And there should be no expectation for Palestinian society to ever be functional with UNRWA providing such perverse incentive strcutures, regardless of what Israel does.

now maybe we can some arrests of the people who were following their orders now

Send NATO troops in to arrest these two scumbags.

Look on the bright side, the majority of dem senators and every republican still supports the genocide. You pro genocide guys should be happy with the level of support for your crimes against humanity.

it was a symbolic vote that only addressed "offensive" weapons. so even if it passed it would not have reduced any of the weapons used to exterminate the population. they would just reclassify them.

they have also issued an arrest warrant for mohammed deif

all of the arrest warrants issued will be difficult to carry out, but that one is going to be especially tough

Everyone knows the ICC is controlled by Hamas.

weird, I thought you told me Hamas said he was dead

Among the many monstrous things Netanyahu has done is condemn so many israelis to following his orders.

Its incredibly hard to stand against and many won't really realise what they been part of for years

I think you are being naive to put so much of this on Bibi. I will continue to cite the repeated surveys were 80-90% of Jewish Israelis support the war as it is being waged.

lol, no one was forced to follow Bibi's orders.

oh god here we go

There is no Gaza genocide

If Israel wanted to genocide this war would have ended 8 months ago

This ruling encourages nations to use their civilians as shields knowing that if civilians die the icc backs them up

This ruling also greatly helps Netenyahu politically

Great job
