Come on in! Since Dustin is taking his ball and going home, it's time to start a new politics thread.
Right to life historically meant more like not being murdered than right to other people's labor.
I'm not suggesting that anybody not be paid for their labor. We have police, fire, primary schools, transportation departments and all that paid from our taxes and provided free of charge to citizens...why not healthcare? Are people that are against universal healthcare against those things as well? Trying to understand the difference with healthcare, if not
I'm not against a society deciding freeish healthcare is worth while.
The state and federal governments also offer food assistance programs. But that doesn't mean they get to eat steak every night.
I tried to apply for for govt assistance, and I couldn't navigate that application process. same for healthcare
also I probably wouldn't have such severe mental health disabilities, or maybe even none, if it wasn't for racist govt policy that stole my grandparents as kids and sent them to "boarding school" to be traumatized, leaving them unable to probably parent my dad, who killed himself when I was 8. his two sisters also killed themselves, and his brother had to live his life in an institution

He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, and eat out their substance.
He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
For cutting off our Trade with all parts of the world:

Shareholders (~25% of which are Elon himself iirc) can't just vote for something that was already ruled to be illegal self-dealing.
The illegal deal was ridiculous and Tesla shareholders gained way more value than the attorney fees granted.
I do of course approve of robbing Telsa shareholder value but only for Glorious Common Good.
A Delaware judge has reaffirmed her decision to void a $56 billion compensation package for Tesla CEO Elon Musk. On Monday, Judge Kathaleen McCormick upheld her January ruling, which noted the astronomical 2018 pay package was the largest ever for a publicly traded corporation. Elon Musk is already the richest person in history, with a net worth estimated at more than a third of a trillion dollars.
Meanwhile, Musk has promised to “delete” the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau when he takes the reins of the so-called Department of Government Efficiency under President Trump next year. His pledge comes after the CFPB finalized a rule to supervise tech companies which offer digital funds transfers and payment wallet apps.
