Yeah even the German SPIEGEL reported on it. You can say what you want about Musk, but on this issue he's grounded on reality. I know a CS professor in the US (himself an immigrant) who told me like 20 years ago that he didn't have PhD students without a migration background in years. If you look at the US nobel laureates this century, almost 30% of them in chemistry, physics, and medicine were not born in the US.

He felt the regulatory overreach and anti-progress ideology of the Democrat Party was the greater evil. In his mind the alternative to this was absurd regulations strangling all progress (and his business interests). Even if this works out badly, from his perspective the inevitable alternative of Democrats staying in power made this the correct decision.

Meanwhile 2/3 of OK high school students graduate from schools where calculus is not even offered. And Oklahoma is not really an outlier in terms of education in magaville.

Ideally, students should learn about religions and church history in public schools but not indoctrinated. Its influence and place in history can't be overstated. Of course, it's a big ask, and I don't see how it could work in today's world. It's not about knowing Greek and Hebrew but having teachers who are able to approach the subject objectively and offer different shades of meaning. Same with philosophy. By the time someone graduates high school, at the very least, they should have been exposed to the Greeks and Enlightenment thinkers.

the are 2 parties. whatever party you side with to try to achieve anything policy wise will include a lot of truly horrific people and ideas.
Musk correctly considered that the democratic party includes a lot more horrific ideas for a right-wing leaning libertarian with a focus on economic freedom than the republican party.

This is nonsense. Musk wants to pay non US tech workers pennies on the dollar compared to what American engineers make and put the rest in his pocket. That's what visas are about. America is the talent that trains these horrible contract workers. The whole system is setup to steal great US jobs and give them to people who cost less.

Btw the above was the normal way to think of immigration for basically all developed countries after industrialization (and welfare) happened. That's the normal, working take that keeps the best countries the best. This is technically inaccurate, although it does get at the spirit of the H-1B visa issue. Engineers on H-1Bs aren't making THAT much less on average. The benefit of having employees on H-1Bs, for tech CEOs, is that you can get a lot more hours and force a toxic work culture on them because of their visa situation.
