2025 NFL Off Season Thread
Key Dates
February
February 18 – The first day clubs can designate franchise or transition players.
February 24-March 3 –
Rodgers can seriously **** right off
Having said that
If he’s being honest (and I give him zero benefit of the doubt that he is) that Aaron Glenn made him fly across the country on his own dime to let him know they’re moving on from him
Spoiler
then Aaron Glenn is a ****ing god and he will be my favorite coach from now until the day I die even if he doesn’t win a game
This is exactly the type of SRM content I love! ♥
I saw the mcafee show, Glenn sounds like a nutjub in how he acted. Losing hope, another 3-4 years of a total mess. As for Rodgers how much zip can he have left? I guess Steelers have nothing to lose since they dumped everyone.
can't remember a more boring run up to a draft. I'm definitely way less into the draft than I used to be, but this one seems particularly dull.
from an entertainment POV, i think I'd be most excited with a giant Shadeur tumble....like maybe out of rd 1 altogether. Albeit that would entail a really repetitive conversation from the panel for all of Draft night.
Maybe a Tunsilesque last minute video/revelation?
Iggles have a very expensive O line now

this isn't happening.
However, my personal opinion is that I do believe there is some legit concern that he won't work hard enough at the NFL level to be the best he can be. Sort of like Johnny Manziel. The talent and skills are in him to be a great pocket passer in the NFL. But he's not there yet and will have to work to improve at it. He does make some incredibly bone headed plays when pressure gets in his face and is guilty of holding on to the ball too long from time to time.
two days out, so updating my thoughts
[previous posts]

i think CIN should attack guard in the second round
they should go DL w pick #17. one of (or both) Oregon's Derrick Harmon (DT) or UGA's Mykel Williams (Edge) should be available. if both are on the board, i'd go w Harmon
now CIN basically sat out FA which means they still need to address several positions: DL, G, LB, S, and likely RB. i wouldn't mind them trading back a bit in Round 1 (if they're able) to add a Day 2 pick (to ensure all these positional needs are met)
Miami should trade Reek and a 2nd to Dallas for their 1st, then draft Tet/Golden at 12, and Will Johnson at 13.
can't see why DAL would do that trade
James Cook holding out for a new deal and probably deserves and will get one.
Apparently wants $15m per year which....I'm not sure I'd give him but given how much draft capital the Bills have given to RBs over the past 5 years, I'm sure they'll work something out.
Maybe 3/39-24?
and as a blanket statement, i think Tyler Warren is a unicorn and any team that drafts him better not **** things up
Kamara is a slight anomaly on that list given the cap situation he ‘solved’ by signing that and they are different players
Aaron Jones probably a better comp in terms of production - he signed his deal with the Packers after his 4th season which increased leverage a little. He’s older now but production still not dissimilar
I would guess Cook gets between 12 and 15 though. Bills seem to want to pay their homegrown guys

It would appear Mr Banks Jr might well be off the board by 17!

Liga
On First Things First they were talking about teams that could trade up, and one of them was the Bengals. Obviously those shows say wild things to get views, but they thought the Bengals could trade their 17th pick and a bunch of others from this year's draft to get the 3rd pick, and take Carter.
Do you think that's realistic and/or worth giving up all that capital?

that would be out of character for the FO
i wouldn't do it. as i mentioned earlier, they should drop back in Round 1 if given the opp if it means picking up an extra Day 2 pick. they have needs/bodies to fill (especially on defense: DT, Edge, LB and S)
if they 'stick and pick' and come out of this draft only making their six picks, i hope they pick (in no particular order) a DT, Edge, LB, S, G and RB. if they trade back and garner an extra Day 2 pick, i'd like to see them take two bites of the apple at Edge or G
starting to see some Jeanty to JAC (instead of LV) mocks
The steam has been coming, but I think it's smoke and mirrors. I think Jeanty is a beast, but the Jags taking him would be foolish and suboptimal.
On a separate note, who itt is going to start the NFL draft thread? I don't think we have any Titan fans to kick it off as the 1.01.
Steelers should move on from Rodgers, they are in bad spot, just draft one, and I like Rudolf, has never worked out but in mind he still has the arm to do it. I got your back Mason, you got this. Dealing with personal stuff so he wont sign yet... and its almost time for camp. Everyone has personal problems and bad ones, everyone.
