'words mean things'

Damn that would have been a much shorter essay.

by d2_e4 m

This is an idiotic argument, and you know it is. Words mean things.

Fragile people are more negatively effected by words.

We all know what normal is. That being said the left has been trying to normalize things that should not be normalized. This is what has brought us another Trump Presidency.

No, what brought us another Trump presidency is cretins like you.

by d2_e4 m

"Abnormal" is to "normal" what "anti-intellectualism" is to "intellectualism". Sometimes the prefix does more than simply negate the word. "Abnormal" to "normal" is more like "dull" to "interesting" than "uninteresting" to "interesting".

For the same reason, saying "abnormal" is different to saying "not normal", the latter not conveying a value judgement in my view.

well stated

by d2_e4 m

Weird, since you like to call yourself an "alpha male".

lol 😀

by d2_e4 m

This is like saying you got 2+2 wrong because you didn't check your answer on a calculator. Only a total moron constantly makes that mistake in the first place.

if someone doesn't make the bed in the morning, it doesn't mean they don't know how

by rickroll m

if someone doesn't make the bed in the morning, it doesn't mean they don't know how

No. But if somebody shits the bed every morning, they probably can't help it.

Unlike shitting the bed, your problems with gramemr and similar such nonsense aren't an issue

That, and people pretending that Trump is a normal president, or even a normal businessman, and not an abnormal ******. His former national security advisor and ambassador to the UN, John Bolton, on the question of if Trump is a fascist, just basically said that he's not smart enough to be a fascist, or to have any philosophy about anything. He compared Trump to a one year old child, who doesn't think about things, but only reacts to them, wants to be the center of attention, and sees nothing except how something affects him.

by Luckbox Inc m

You wanted to know how you were wrong

No. I didn't. Nothing I said was wrong. You certainly never demonstrated any such thing.

by Luckbox Inc m

Just because the word 'abnormal' might have a negative connotation does not make that a "literal part of the definition" as you alleged.

For example, you've been wrong in literally every reply you've made to me, as you are above. Every single part of this is wrong.

1. The reasoning wasn't just because it had a negative connotation. Quite the opposite.

2. It is a literal part of the definition.

3. I didn't allege that the connotation had an effect on the denotation.

Stunning. Never seen a dog's a.. so successfully hide from the sunshine all day.

I said the exact opposite of what you said I alleged here. I said it's not just part of the connotation, it's part of the denotation. I then provided two primary sources, proving this.

That makes it literally true that it is a literal part of the definition. This was proven explicitly.

Not only am I not interested in a discussion with you because of how you talked to me, I'm not interested in you because you can't get basic, proven facts right, you struggle with the very thing you accuse me of (basic word meaning) quite demonstrably in every post to me, and these two things are essential to having a rational conversation.

No thanks.

Is it abnormal to be a cretin?

by geezerchess m

Is it abnormal to be a cretin?

Recent presidential election results suggest no. At least not in America.

I don't even think MAGA thinks Trump is normal.

Bolton was fired by Trump so he obviously doesn't have anything nice to say. That being said, he is right. Most rational people realize Trump is a narcissist.

Trump was 100% brought to us by the woke left. Americans got sick of DEI, open borders, coddling criminals, drag queen story hour, men in women sports, pronouns, etc.

Weird, since you like to call yourself an "alpha male".

Like I said, I don't play make believe.

I think it's time to look at yourself in the mirror and take responsibility for how the last election went.

by d2_e4 m

Not really!

It is fun how triggered you get though over trivial things. You probably get angry drinking a glass of water in the morning.

I've been posting on 2+2 for over 20 years. I think I got it right.

But for good measure, let’s debate again whether cognitive ability influences ideological bias

That’s always fun

You think I'm "triggered" because I think you're a complete moron? Do you dumb ****s have any other responses to criticism except "lOl u tRigGeRed"?

by mongidig m

Like I said, I don't play make believe.

Right. You self identify as an alpha male, but lots of other people identify you as a giant douchebag instead. There's probably a lesson in there somewhere, slugger.

#CretinsforTrump2028

Wait, the answer is "yes", right?

Calm down!

by mongidig m

Calm down!

A potted plant has more brain cells and comes up with better retorts than you.
