‘Big, Beautiful Bill’ potentially very bad for poker (players) in the US + STAY ON TOPIC!!
This makes Black Friday look like a children’s birthday party.
There’s no chance this passes right? It would
I can see how a lot of players who were formally pros using poker for 100% of income will now need regular jobs and maybe play on the side. It's a lot easier to cheat on your taxes that way.
Anything that thins the herd of unsociable, tanking misregs and makes poker enjoyable again for the common man I fully support. YES to BBB!!
You need to be a very special kind of special to start and engage in a Covid/vaccination debate in this thread. Can't make this stuff up.
and there it is...the bill passes after Dear Leader shouts down front on high that it better pass. the Republican Party is not a political operation anymore. It is a cult. What Trump says, goes. Period. There was never any doubt.
And if you still support this President and administration, you are part of that cult, and anything you have to say - about anything - will never hold any sway with me ever again. You've been duped and you still will not realize it until the leopard eats YOUR face.
Nothing brings more joy than seeing BBB pass, well, maybe seeing Dominic in hysterics is a close second lol.
ICE now has over 70 billion dollars to build more concentration camps.
Just in time for Independence Day.
hey Fly, if you're responding to my posts, I can't see 'em! So you're pissing into the wind, Gomer. You have nothing to say I ever want to see. π

Sure, maybe the president's personal gestapo now has a budget larger than the 7th largest military in the world, and maybe 5% of americans just lost health care, but at least we killed the careers of Vegas misreg tournament grinders.
rip
He cut USAID which is estimated to result in millions (yes, millions) of deaths to save a small fraction of the amount the tax cuts to people making over 500k per year will get from this bill, and *this* is the worst thing you think he's done? Wtf
This is way down on the list
Show me where there are any new tax cuts for the 500k+ earners compared to last year, or any year since 2018.
Frankly we are spending ourselves into oblivion. THAT will be much worse for those same people and billions of others. I say a pox on all of them ,but your characterization and claims are simply wrong. There is plenty of **** that Trump is pushing that is bad but this is WAY down the list.
I mean, in general, there is nothing preventing you from committing tax fraud besides the fact that you might get audited and then you could very well go to jail. And I believe people who file large amounts of gambing winnings and losses are much more likely to get audited than the average citizen. To be fair, probably like 98% of recreational gamblers donβt disclose any gamblin
You would be amazed at how many people who get W2Gs and are eligible but donβt even claim the deduction they are entitled to.
Anyone think this will have any impact on recreational gamblers, particularly slot degens, is simply crazy. Those folks donβt consider taxes while slapping that button.
So, as much fun as it is to point fingers at the other side (like sandpaper on your eyeballs), back to the facts.
Was this still included in the final version that the House just passed? Is it over?
Of course it was included
As long as you bought Bitcoin you'll be alright. If you're heavy in cash, you'll get crushed and I can understand why you'd be angry. You cannot taper a ponzi scheme. Print baby print!

You might be a Bills fan, but at least I know from this post, you've still got a working brain.

They would have to send back to the senate if they changed any of the bill language, so this was always going to stay once it passed the senate. Shockingly Doug βMAGAβ Polk doesnβt have that kind of pull

Yes. There was less than a 1 in 1000 chance that it would be removed once if got to the House
You set up a corporation, and use the corporation to pay your buyins and deposit any winnings into the corporate account. The change is to the individual tax code, not corporate tax code. Then you pay yourself a salary from the corporation, and you are just another employee. How your employer gets it's money is irrelevant, on your personal taxes you just report wages and pay ta
It is DEFINITELY more complicated and dependent on specific set up. For a single member LLC treated as a disregarded entity, that and sole proprietorship cover the VAST majority professional gamblers, the wins and losses hit your sched C which will almost definitely have this new deduction limitation.
There probably are structures to get around this limit but a) until the exact enacting regs/rules are written no one can state with certainty any reality but b) it will be more complicated than the normal LLC.
The best hope is to get this changed in a corrective bill. At almost 1000 pages, there will be βgotchasβ found. There will likely be a separate new law to make corrections. If not this year, next after they pop up in reality.
$267M of national park staff funding. Gone.
So did this make it to the House version that they are about to vote on and then give to Trump to sign?
I read some conflicting stuff on if it made into this version or not.
