Las Vegas Casual Dining Thread
We have the fine dining thread, but everyone needs some good casual places to eat, either on the strip or local. I'm fi
Coffee Class is solid. Drinks not quite on par with Aware (still the best IMO) but pretty good and the pastries are epic.
Coffee class is on the list (thanks inkind).
Do you have a go to at aware? I'm a reg there and have had some hits/misses with both drink and food.
I think aware's signature lattes are good. The current seasonal flavor (horchata latte) was a big miss for me. Too heavy on the cinnamon.
The almond/ ube croissant and ube brioche donut were tasty. They actually tasted like ube vs other places where it was purple whipped cream. If I'm not mistaken, aware has a relationship with the purple potato (same ownership group?)
I've also noticed a few shops are doing there own pop tart creation. Neighbors has one on their menu also.
If you find yourself in Summerlin, you should check out poke express. I think it's the best poke in Vegas and one of the best cheap eats around. Grab yourself a half pound of poke and a scoop or two of rice for ~$10.
I'm a fan of the furikake ahi, as well as the salmon with the citrus sauce.
Just a heads up, no seating so everything is to go.
Here's what they had in the case

damn... I need that for last nights diner, so I went to Lotus of Siam in RR... the worst diner I have had in MANY years. horrible service and food just tastes like sugar.
never again.
I will definitely try Naxos... it does indeed look good. have you eaten at Mr T's?
I have not.
And yeah RR Lotus is not great.

Thanks for posting this. I'd only ever been to the one across from Craig Ranch Park (it's really good), and I live close to the Summerlin location.
American Wagyu NY strip at Chica was pretty epic, 9.7/10. Only $100 with locals discount ($127 normally). Combo’d with InKind 35% off with Costco cards makes it the cheapest Wagyu steak on the strip.
Our $246 check with a couple $50 off InKind codes cost us about $80 net plus tip. InKind is the gift that keeps on giving.

yum

I usually just get an iced latte with extra shot of espresso. The dirty ube is great. If I get anything sweet I usually order half or quarter sweetness. The vanilla and hazelnut lattes are solid. I think they have the best regular iced latte in town.
The chicken salad sandwich is pretty great and on the lighter side. Havenβt had much food there other than that and the pastries. Loved the mochi donuts but those are gone now. The new donuts are really good. Croissants above average but not at the level of the top pastry places.
Stage Door and Battistas have been closed for at least two weeks. A/C was always broken, but **** went bad to do it during busy season or business was off.
Grand Lux allways amazes me, they have a super big and diverse menu, are open 24 / 7 and everything is super solid. I have tried burgers, asian, pastas, meats, and it just never fails.

Double smash burger and tots from Stay Tuned Burgers inside Hard Hat Lounge. A little smaller than I thought, but absolutely fantastic. Heard nothing but good things yet still was surprised at how good they and the tot sauce were.

Pastrami fries from Able Baker. This is the small order, these were fantastic as well. Definitely worth a try.
Matteoβs offering a prix fixe for $35 with an app/salad course, entree, and dessert. Would normally cost around $55-65 for all of that so pretty solid deal. The 15% locals discount can also be used.
Salad = 6/10
Pizza = 8.5/10
Pesto pasta = 9/10
Panna cotta = 9.5/10 (deducted 0.5 since itβs kinda small, tastes incredible)
Total with discount = $53 in poker comps

Looks great (pizza looks a little less great but i see your score reflects thatβ¦.)
Went to check out Bleu Kitchen Garlic Noodle Bar (Cheyenne & Buffalo).
Cool little spot. Creative menu. We got the Oxtail Tacos which were decent. They are wanton tacos and that made them a little too salty. We actually took two home and put the contents on street taco tortillas and they were much better. However, we also got the Asian Fried Spareribs with Garlic Noodles which was delicious! Their noodles are amazing. Decent prices. No alcohol. It's a tiny little spot. Casual dining. Next time I will just do carry out.
It's not worth driving across town for however, if you are in the vicinity it' worth checking out.
Cheers!
Lucinoβs Philly cheese steak is legit, maybe best in town. 9.3/10. $17. Got the one with bacon fried onions and jalapeΓ±os. Subbed provolone for the cheez whiz. Wish it wasnβt on the other side of earth from my house.
Sigh, that looks really good. Same issue with it being 35 minutes away.
For the person asking about Indian food, John Curtas who is the best food critic by a mile was raving about Tamba which is in town square which is far south on the strip
Any delis doing Taylor ham egg and cheese on a bagel ?
Missing north Jersey /Jersey shore right now and hope someone sells it here.
I can't buy it at home because my girl is vegetarian and I keep meat out of the house.

Never been, but this place has good reviews and a pork roll.
