IU/ORE refs are incompetent.
Missing the DPI was awful enough, but repeatedly missing the ORE shifts within 1 yard of the LoS is crazy.

I can't recommend enough college football fans skimming at least this article about the first "Game of the Century": Texas/Arkansas in 1969. The article does a great job capturing how sick it was, including the fateful rescheduling of the game for the end of the year, the "eerie feel to the game" (I've only ever seen one other game that way), the #1 Ohio State upset by Michigan in Schembechler's first year igniting insanity into that rivalry, the great friendship and competition of the two legendary coaches, Royal and Broyles ... and in a sense the birth of mega-sports events on TV, all in the 100th year of college football no less.
The 4th and 2 bomb by the wishboning Longhorns -- which changed the national champion -- is perhaps the greatest play in college football history, all things considered.
Late in the game, the #1 offense in the country was being shutout by the #1 defense (6 turnovers by UT out of the newly invented wishbone).
The POTUS (Nixon) being at the game was an epic effect in those days.
Whey a guy called Happy Feller came on for the XP to win the game, it was so, so like a story ... and that's a perspective I have taken on games ever since.

Well I thought PSU didn't have a chance to chip b/c they'd lose to Oregon, tOSU, and some other team. I didn't think it would be b/c they had a losing record at the end of the year.

Nothing fluky about it. IU massively outplayed Oregon. They came in and took care of business vs an inferior team. The better team won. Decisively.
Wow, Northwestern did it? Too good to be true. My father went there and I generally pull for them, but this iteration is tiresome. Something like 22-0 against the "Little 10" the last 3 years and 0-6 against the "Big Ten." They could be 0-6 in conference in a few weeks.
The final Indy possession seemed suboptimal but historic win.
