Why can't others be "only half-serious"? If the side of all that is good and right (in the eyes of moderators) can have one way of posting, but the side of vile and evil devils (again, in the eyes of the beholder) is held to a different standard it can only lead to problems.

Didace there is no bias between two sides in the example given because regardless of how liberal or conservative your views might be, and regardless of your gender, race, religion, or nationality, or orientation you are allowed to say you hate all men. You can say you hate all men too.

by Rococo m

FWIW, one reason why I don't favor CN's over-the-top, "I hate all men" comments, even though I believe she is only half-serious, is because it leads to endless efforts by some posters to probe the boundaries on what they can say about women, gay people, etc. The only argument those posters offer is that the moderator is guilty of hypocrisy if he or she doesn't allow the stuff

In my opinion, folks constantly testing boundaries is beyond you because you yourself express middle-of-the-road opinions that don't even come close to any boundry in the first place.

(My opinion about your posting here should most certainly NOT be construed as a criticism of your expressed views.)

Another reason for 'testing boundries' is because different mods draw the boundries differently.

For example, I doubt coordi would have temp-banned me for a whole week (if at all).

(Note well that I think that my temp-ban WAS justified.)

Is it not a conflict of interest that we have a female moderator who openly hates men moderating a forum of just men? I don't even need to provide evidence of her misandry because this is common knowledge amongst everyone participating in this forum. I think Crossnerd has created a problem for TwoplusTwo. I think she knows this and is trying to move past this subject as quickly as possible. I've noticed the other moderators have been reluctant to enter the conversation. I would probably turn my back and pretend it wasn't happening as well. Geezer asked her a simple question but she refuses to answer because the answer is yes that person should be temp banned. Moderation should not be done from emotion. Moderation should not be personal. You don't see this happening in other threads. Most moderators are hands off. When Crossnerd was moved to the side for a while and Coordi took over things went very well.

Inconsistency is also a problem here. When it was all Coordi people stopped having to walk on eggshells. The conversation went quite a bit past the boundaries that were in place before. This is what folks became used to. Now it seems Crossnerd is getting more involved so who knows what may be a ban worthy offense. I simply asked a question and was temp-banned for two day's. There is a poster who called me a "Subhuman date rapist" and all is well for him.

I agree with you.

That said, overall I think Crossnerd is an excellent moderator.

In my opinion, the current moderation team (CN, Spew and Coordi) is the best one ever in this forum.

Your last temp-ban completely baffled me.

Sometimes Crossnerd engages in 'rage-bans', which I've never seen from another moderator ever in this forum.

Agree.

That temp-ban came out of nowhere from King Spew. It was a head scratcher. He misread my intentions with asking the question. I actually had to look up "Troll baiting".

I agree with your "rag e-bans" comment. Modding from emotion is not a good thing. I think there are a lot of people who should not be participating in forums if they get easily triggered.

No one forces you to post here. I'm sure there are plenty of forums where you can hate black people and leftists without any fear of getting banned.

I forgot about that.

I even said in an earlier post that I thought it was Spew who temp-banned you.

Of course, my observation about 'rage-bans' from CN is still valid.

I'll give you some homework. Go find a post of mine anywhere where I said I hated black people.

I'm not a fan of leftists.

I didn't know they allow alt accounts in these forums.

Welcome back! Did you enjoy your latest 'vacation'?

I don't know of anyone in this forum who hates black people. Do you?

Afaik the only poster who openly hated leftists was permabanned.

I do hate leftists.

You know you met a true Maga when you have to explain their beliefs to them lmao.

Dunyain and myself had previous accounts that were perma-banned.

Kelhaus and Lagtight, respectively.

(Trolly likes to refer to me as Lagtit, but that's because he's a perv.)

What you really are saying is that you actually believe that women can't think logically unless they are trained by a man, I don't believe that, and therefore you find it harder to avoid bans than I do.

Fair enough, I guess, but oof, I wouldn't be proud of having to make that argument in a discussion about moderation.

Maybe that’s why you don’t like it and maybe some posters do that. I don’t like man-hating comments because hating people for their gender is bad.

this is outrageously funny coming from you 😆 😃

Sure, I can certainly be hyperbolic, at times, just like Crossnerd and others. Like you, I don't think that CN literally hates men or anything like that.

LMAO, did you really change your post from "hate Leftists" to "not a fan"?

Grow a pair, dude, what would your Maga buddies think?

I admittedly am not prone to hyperbole or sweeping generalizations.

I agree. Your posts are almost invariably well-reasoned and clearly expressed.

Even when I disagree with you (which is often), I must take seriously what you have to say.

for many reasons which should be obvious.

Hate is too strong of a word. I really don't hate too many things.

Also, I'm not MAGA.
