As far as I can recall, I’ve never perma’d a user for misogyny, so I’m not sure what’s inducing the panic

by Crossnerd m

I was consistent in that nobody received bans for those statements

I do wonder if SRM wasn't on the other half of this exchange if things might have gone differently. He seems to be a favorite of the MODs for some odd reason. Also, I'm not sure if you have noticed but I am not one to initiate an attack of other posters or use foul language. I do think I have the right to respond.

I’ve temped SRM more than once, it just went less noticed because he didn’t whine about it endlessly in the mod thread

Over-moderationUnder-moderationWe've had both and both have been criticized.Unfortunately the middle-ground is unattainable because SomeoneAlwaysHasTheir EgoCrushed.mongo

I was more curious about how he felt about the ban and not so much the specifics. I too was banned at that time and didn't think I should have been so we had something in common. In retrospect I should have just waited for someone else to ask or let him just come out with it. I'm learning. I have a bad rep here I will admit but my posting has changed for the better I think. I do think my reputation precedes me and is a factor in some of the bans I have received.

Thank you for your response. I forgive you.

Probably because it was deserved.

why are these guys such crybabies

these morans want to troll all day every day, and then cry when it works. too pathetic to enjoy their "success". sad!

by spaceman Bryce m

I’m glad you realized you were being emotional and hateful in your original post and changed it for the better. It’s ok to be emotional, but try to be more logical and less hateful.

I simply realized that hate was the wrong word. I agree it's ok to feel emotions but you shouldn't allow them to dictate your decisions.

This is the Moderation thread. It's an opportunity to voice your concerns or disagreements. The hope is that we can come to a common ground and make this and other threads better.

You’re the ones having big emotional responses, not me πŸ˜€

by 57 On Red m

Of course. And what's wrong with that exactly?

None of them are his.

When you get banned the only thing you see is....You've been banned for Misogyny or Islamaphobia or Transphobia or Necrophilia, or Troll Baiting or Antisemitism etc. Why isn't there a more detailed explanation provided? Also, why isn't the banned individual given a chance to explain their post?

Why don't you just post less bigoted garbage?

We are just talking about the recent bans. I'm not feeling any emotion other than curiosity as to why this happened. I have speculated that "emotion" did play a part in what happened. I could be wrong I wasn't there with you.

I have no intention of posting "bigoted garbage".

I can answer these questions, and the answers aren't specific to you.

I can answer these questions. Posters aren't given a lengthy explanation because (i) the reason is usually obvious; and ii) moderators are volunteering their time and shouldn't be expected to write paragraph long explanations of the obvious.

Also, why isn't the banned individual given a chance to explain their post?

The overwhelming majority of bans are for overt and obvious jackassery. Inviting the presumptively banned poster to explain his post when there is no possible explanation that would suffice would just be an invitation for the presumptively banned poster to complain (best case) or amplify his jackassery (worst case).

Why is emotion in quotes?

by Crossnerd m

Why is emotion in quotes?

I was just highlighting the word emotion. I guess putting it in quotes wasn't the correct way to do it.

I mean, I let you guys finish with your little incel assembly. Then I chose my sacrifices. Does the guillotine have feelings?

Italics, underscores, or bold text is how native speakers normally do it.

Words get quoted all the time for the purposes of highlighting them.

You all have me wrong. I'm not a bad person. In fact, just the other day someone said that I was "A gentle soul". I think that describes me perfectly. The problem is that people like you all don't exist in the real world except for at antifa rallies and far left forums. It's not my fault you take my posts out of context. It's not my fault you are overly sensitive. I just simply speak the truth. I won't be coming in here much because I can't put my family through another banning. My little alpha 4.5 year old asked me why are these people being so mean to you? I told him it's because they are hurting and we should say a silent prayer for them for they know not what they do.

yeah but some guy on truth social does it with randomized capitalization and quotation marks
