Like I said, CN is a bit hyperbolic to rile you guys up but my point is she is not alone in a lot of her core opinions which are based on life experience. I'm pretty sure more than half the female population is going to give her a knowing nod with her rants. Kind of thins out there dating pool a bit. And lol man bashing, don't be such a thin skinned snowflake. You can get them

All of this, 100%. Same with your previous thoughts.

If 5 south’s post pisses you off, you should really take a step back and unpack why.

Yeah, nothing she's said is clever or novel in that regard... but lol at taking it seriously. It's kind of like getting mad at the vicious teasing your kids might give you for not understanding the latest kid memes that are huge in their universe.

Men really are though only good for sports and gambling.

Do you find women and feminism to be childish in general, or just when I do it? I didn’t perceive that to be 5 Souths attitude.

I reject the notion that the stuff you've posted itt is representative of feminism or women. I do consider it childish/intentionally meant to provoke though.

That’s interesting because I very much consider much of what’s been posted in this thread by certain posters to be representative of men.

Including your recent tone policing.

It's certainly representative of the more radical end of the feminist spectrum that sits somewhere between 'all we want is jobs and equal pay' and the Solanas's "Society for Cutting Up Men".

Ok? There’s a pretty big asymmetry between men and women though. If I engaged in negative stereotyping of women based on your posting it would be much more harmful than you doing the reverse ie I could have very negative views on women and keep my job, continue gettibg promoted etc while women have to have good working relationships with men to succeed. That’s why I was agreeing with 5 that anyone offended by your posts is being thin skinned.

What’s more radical than a man believing he has the authority to define what real feminism is πŸ™„

Just another reminder that intelligence doesn’t immunize anyone from gendered defensiveness. Personally, I think men who are offended by satire and having their own behaviors spotlighted are mostly myopic narcissists content to center the conversation on themselves and their own comfort rather than addressing the substance of the claims.

And don’t do that, don’t retcon what just happened here.

I stand by my views and I won’t be tone policed by you or anyone.

5 South, who you responded to positively, called your posts trolling. I didn’t think I was pulling a “quiet, men are talking” by drawing a distinction between feminism and posts you yourself didn’t appear to take seriously.

5 south engaged my views with respect and understands the function of the trolling; you did and do not. You are not remotely agreeing to the same things, and frankly I’m done with the gaslighting. You know as well as I do the intended function of your comments.

If you have more discomfort with my posts than with the confederacy of idiot sexists who routinely post garbage here, that’s all I need to know. Thank you for identifying yourself.

by Crossnerd m

It’s mildly frustrating for me to write out my precise views and then have some idiot come in and paraphrase them to say something entirely different, but again, this is very standard behavior coming from men when discussing these topics. None of you are especially clever or novel in that regard.

It's mildly frustrating that you aren't very precise in describing your views, but again, that's very standard behavior for women.

I thought the functioning of your trolling was to rile people up and not seriously engage with idiot sexists.... which is fine. That's why I quoted your point about about nothing being "clever or novel" not just in Geezer's posts but yours as well. Didn't seem like anybody was being all that thoughtful or serious and the joke was on people like chillrob who seemed to genuinely feel sorry for men, like me, who have spouses, daughters, mothers etc that would agree in spirit with your "man bashing".

My trolling is almost always done within the context of reacting. I am not roaming the forum attempting to randomly rile people up. Half of these dingdongs stay perpetually riled anyway.

I am clear on where you stand based on your initial comments. You can stop with this pseudo-realignment and sophistry.

Truly, this is so cowardly of you. You said what you said and I saw your intentions. Stand in it.

I'm not sure you are clear.... if you think my view is radically different from 5 Souths. Granted I don't really care either.

And my "intentions" were to put your posts in context and say they were how I would expect normal people to respond to sexist posts itf ie standard and not "novel or clever". I certainly have no problems "stand[ing] in it".

Then why don’t you **** off

Well yeah :. I shoulda done that posts ago instead of engaging.

by ecriture d'adulte m

You didn’t engage with anything; you just used it as flimsy pretext to critique how I choose to respond to sexism in this forum. Don’t tone police women and expect them to then engage with you respectfully, especially not me.

is most of the young Saudi men I have spoken with would say that a woman would disown them or attack them if they said “oh I’m going to get another wife.”

this is a very small part of it

the far, far greater part is you need extremely high net worth to pull it off - neither his existing family nor the family of the prospective addition would be onboard unless the man had enough wealth to take care of the addition to mirror levels of time and financial support of the pre-existing one without any sacrifice to the other

it thus requires immense wealth - the kind where if they lose their job they can still provide at same level as before - so we're not talking doctors and lawyers, we're talking people who own entire city blocks and factories etc and thus why less than 1% of all men have it

and yes, most women would shut it down immediately, but anyone who marries an oligarch goes into knowing that even if he's single now, she's going to be the first of several - it's part of the deal

you see the same thing in asia, which is why so many successful women are unmarried - because they want someone of their own caliber and income - but aren't willing to concede and accept that their husband will keep mistresses the entire time and those men of that caliber they desire would rather just marry an unambitious women who will accept mistresses packaged with a good life

by TheKnight00 m

It’s a popular misconception there. Huge numbers of conservatives now have a lot of respect for South American Catholics, for African Muslims as these people oppose abortion, they have traditional values, these are beautiful family people. They care deeply about having big families. And look at the garbage in America the porn, the marijuana.A lot of politicians along with elite

No they don’t. The president just called for a remigration and was cheered by his party. Why do you so freely and shamelessly come here to lie when everyone knows it’s BS?

If you want to say β€œthis is how people should think” ok that’s different than saying β€œthis is how people think”.

And Trumps approval with Latinos has fallen even further than with everyone else, which itself is pretty bad for only 11 months.

Speaking of being aggressive... ^

Anyway, the irony is I was being light-hearted when I wrote that, but then you got all heavy about it, and it became funny.

How is the onus on me to know when someone is being lighthearted when the baseline for this forum is mongidig saying the most heinous **** imaginable and being dead serious about it. Come on, man. What rapport do we have that you think I’m going to assume you don’t mean it?
