Gole Caufield w/a hat trick for his 43rd. Keep in mind that MacKinnon is an empty net merchant (except late in Olympic gold medal matches) with 5 EN compared to 0 for Gole, so Gole is 3 clear of the entire league at beating actual goalies.
Caufield has no empty net goals in his career. Ovechkin a massive empty net merchant.

The point here isn’t that Caulfield doesn’t score empty netters, it’s that he’s not trusted on the ice during close out time.
MSL does have some blind spots. Gole's defense is pretty elite, but obv he's smaller and getting in passing lanes a bit tougher down a man. Still, I think there's value in having a guy that will have a good shot at hitting the net even from his own zone. The Habs are one of the worst teams 5 on 6, and a big part of that is our 5 on 6 guys are mostly low skill guys. They aren't even necessarily that good at what they do either bc our PK kinda blows too.
Ovi does have some sick ENG tho. The guy can intercept the puck near his own faceoff dots, turn and shoot in a split second, and always seems to hit the target. I would love to see most goals scored from ones own defensive zone. Ovi must be crushing everyone.

Bruins just had probably their best shift of the year against the Wild, made two line changes while pressing in the offensive zone. Took Pasta getting on the ice to actually score though lol

LOL VGK management. They have no clue. Cassidy is not the problem with this team and Tortorella is only going to make things even worse.
Overpaying for worthless players (i.e. Hertl, Marner), horrendous goaltending, Pietrangelo retiring and VGK absolutely not being able to score in OT/shootout this season is the problem. And VGK was playing their best hockey of the season when management decided to trade Zach Whitecloud for Andersson. Unreal. Good thing VGK got their cup in that window because they aren't winning another one for a long time with these idiots at the helm in management.
Now that's a solid username, I didn't even consider the potential hilarity of Torts coaching Marner. Dude's gonna think back wistfully to his time in Toronto when the death threats only came from fans.

Does coaching even matter in the Nhl? How many coaches are significantly above replacement level? Brind'amour, Cooper, Maurice?
Torts with Marner is good for lols.
Leafs should get Cassidy instead of Berube, but they won't.
I'm not sure coaching is the issue in oil town.
Hagel having almost 20% of his goal production be empty netters is kind of nuts. No surprise to see active players dominate the leaderboard though
