New fast food discussion/review thread
OK OOT, it's been a while since we had a devoted fast food thread around here and I think it's time we had a new one.

Tomorrow's TB drop at 2pm pdt is a burrito supreme! Back in the olden days, two of those were my standard go to.
I remember the summer when Wendy's had $1 Double Stacks. I went in with a friend to get some for our group hangout that day (yes we played $10 poker, and I almost always ran bad vs people who were a shake above beginners -- somewhat infuriating, but anyway). The person before us in line, a 35~ year old man of below average height, perhaps 5'7-5'8" and weighing not more than 170 lbs, almost as if to sound proudly, ordered 7 (!) Double Stacks.
From the looks of it, and his tone, it appeared to me that they were all for him.
This man, thus instantly earned my respect.
and that was Story Time with McMuffin.
As a teenager to my middle 20's my standard Wendy's order was a triple, fries and drink. But would sometimes go with three singles.
lol 7 double stacks
I've had to have told the story itt before, but when very hungry after a marathon poker session at Borgata, I used to go to FatBurger in their food court and get a 1LB burger. I was really friendly with the workers there and often got free guac.
Anyways, I'd cut it in half, and then half again. And boom 4 quarter pounders!
Their shakes were really good too. I became good friends with someone who gifted me one once. He was going to go to the food court and he goes hey (my name), you want a shake?
Me: **** yeah I want a shake!
Him: Well, that's what you're gonna get.
When he returned, he joked that he should giveaway free shakes, but sell the straws at a premium. #BusinessSmarts
part of me wants to try the new Spicy Chicken Sandwich at Wendy's, but the other part of me is afraid if it'll wreck my stomach.

Around 20-25 years ago, I was at an Arby's located inside of a mall. Beef and cheddar's were on sale 5 for $5, order up to 20. The guy in front of me ordered 20. I had seen him around town before and I knew he had a morbidly obese wife/gf. She had to be 800+ pounds. The employee scowled and asked the manager if they could take that order, and they reluctantly said yes.
I gagged at the thought that pieces of these sandwiches would soon become future "fold finds".
Wendy’s 1$ double stack, BK buck doubles and 1$ double cheeseburgers and 75c drinks at Rick’s. We were living good around 2010.
Just got my $1 Taco Bell Burrito Supreme - 2026
😀
Used up 6k Rick points for a bacon egg cheese biscuit this morning, was a delight.
Really tho losing the buy one get one for $1 menu is going to cut my Rick's visits much more than the points getting worse. Between the breakfast items and 2 double cheeseburgers for <$5 I spam that menu.
The FoF is barely 3 quarters tall.
I have a hankerin for BK, even though their offers suck. Hopefully next month I can get one off the broiler
the FOF is clearly smaller than what it used to be 15 years ago. I'm talking at most 75% the size it used to be.
I vote it's exactly the same.
Today only free charburger with $8 purchase at The Habit.
Ba-dah-ba-dah-dah, I'm McLovin it.
I have 55% off min subtotal $20 postmates offer. I guess I should get Five Guys Burgers and Fries.
I'm thinking cheeseburger +add patty and regular fries.
toppings:
pickle
tomato
grilled onions
mayo
ketchup
?
comes to just under $16 + tip. I'm so doing this, maybe tomorrow. Five Guys, will you Always be my maybe burger?
Everything listed under 7,000 points is currently 6,000. All of it is increasing by 1,000 points. But they are trying to spin it as being better, I'm sure.
It's like Pizza Hut's revamp. It used to top out at 300points, IIRC. Now it's in the thousands, and they hope you don't realize you just got screwed.
BOGO free fish sandwichs from Carl.

Today I re-learned Red Hook is still a thing.

up in springtucky oregon
(we're talking no subpoena to own pet lion country)
furthur home to ken kesey and eternally respawning dreaded salmonella dead deciples
kwik-e-mart tobacco shops still display red hook window posters
while more adjacent strip mall bars label tap handles with seldom ordered refreshment
still haven't had one in ages
Spoiler
Huh, I thought Red Hook went out of business too.
On the news yesterday, there was a bit on the crawl that the first drive-through-only CFA in Colorado is opening soon. Not near me, and I'm not a drive-through fan. Based on the lines I see at the CFA near me, though, I could see it being a big hit.
