Planning on long term travelling
Hey,
In September I plan on going off from my home town in Northern Ireland and see the world, Not as a holiday but kinda as a lifestyle(poker FTW), I'm starting in Amsterdam. My plan is to stay for a few months and move on,(probably to Berlin.)
What I'm asking is,
- Does anyone have any advice on how to get affordable accommodation for 1-3 months? Is it possible?(By affordable I mean <400 euros/month
- I haven't had much experience with staying in hostels, could it be possible to work a deal with a hostel for a long term stay?
- Any particular area of Amsterdam I should be looking for? And Berlin if possible?
- Any suggestions on where is easy enough to get to after Berlin?
Any advice is appreciated, cheers

Finding accommodation under β¬400/month is tough but possible through long-term hostel deals, shared flats, or discounted Airbnb stays. In Amsterdam, try Noord or Oost; in Berlin, NeukΓΆlln or Wedding. After Berlin, Prague, Budapest, or Krakow are easy, cheap options.
I don't know about long-term travel, but this sounds like an exciting adventure. I would be interested in following along if you create a blog/TR/whatever.
One thing I learned during long-term travel is that occasionally upgrading your accommodation can make a huge difference to your overall experience. After weeks in hostels or budget hotels, spending a few nights in Luxury Accommodation Hobart Tasmania can be a great reset. Hobart has a slower pace than Sydney or Melbourne, amazing waterfront views, and easy access to places like MONA and Bruny Island, making it a good destination for travelers who want comfort without the crowds.
